Fresh seafood, a broad array of prepared food, hot homemade soups and loads of goodies. Fairly priced for excellent quality.

Okay, so I admit that it takes some getting used to ... looking at halibut for $24.99 a pound. But, look at the fish here and then go down to Shaw's or Market Basket and look at their dead fish on ice. Yeah, you'll be back here the next time you want a restaurant quality fish to cook at home.... More

Really great quality fish, either raw or prepared, as well as many side dishes. We get food to go but you can call ahead for sandwiches, large orders and grab soup too. I've never eaten here for lunch although they have tables set up for that in a side room and outside. They also sell nice local foods (cookies, oils,... More

My boyfriend and I consulted Trip Advisor for a place to have lunch as we drove into Ipswich. This gem was listed and had good reviews which it lived up to bigtime!! The cafe's clam chowder, broccoli and cheese soup, and clam cake were delicious!!! You could taste how fresh everything was, obviously made on premises that day with fresh... More

This review pertains to ordering fish through their website. I paid $129 for 1 Quart of clams, along with a few other necessities to fry them. I think by any standard that would be gauged as very expensive. However, we wanted good quality clams from back east like we remembered them, so we paid it hoping for the best. The... More

The market has fresh fish, prepared meals to eat on site or take home and other unusual gourmet products as well as frozen foods made on site. Their selection of soups and chowders is extensive and excellent. They have one of the best clam chowders in Ipswich (where clam chowder is a staple food).

The fish market is also now a cafe as well. It is a place where you can sit down and enjoy the buffet. You can order fresh seafood at the counter if you care to cook your own meal. This also a store that has nice things to buy such as dishes and art work. Also sweets. Ipswich Shellfish itself... More

If you find yourself in the vicinity of Ipswich, and you love seafood, then I suggest you find your way to the Ipswich Shellfish Fish Market. Service is friendly, food is super fresh and well priced. You can eat lunch there, or just buy your fresh and/or prepared seafood, salads etc to go. I can't say enough about how terrific... More

This is first and foremost, a fish market but they offer a limited buffet lunch between 12 and 2 that you serve yourself. I saw only one communal table that would seat about 6 people total. I was by myself so bought something from the buffet and ate it in my car. It was outstanding. There isn't a hint of... More
