I have been here several times over the past few years. It's located across from Hyannis Harbor & the Island Ferry port. So it's got a great feel & location. I definitely like the ambience. Our first night in Hyannis and we wanted something close to our hotel, The Anchor In, this was perfect! Since it was brutally cold for us Floridians, they sat us near the fireplace, which was much appreciated! Fried shrimp was good as were the margaritas! Afterwards, at the bar, the bartender went out of her way to make me a... More

I had been to the restaurant several years ago and was excited to go again. The last time I was there it was great. We went on NYE weekend and arrived around 8 PM (the kitchen closed at 9). The service wasn't great, The waitress never came to check on our drinks and didn't even pay attention to which drinks... More

Wait staff was great! $26 for a "giant lobster roll" would have been reasonable if the lobster roll was, in fact, giant. Grilled hot dog roll was nice though and the lobster was delicious!

A friend and I had dinner here late December. We had 8:30 reservations and were pleasantly surprised to find the place fairly hopping, considering that it was a late-ish dinner in December on the Cape. The waitstaff were friendly and accommodating, The food was pretty good--nothing great, but good. I had oysters (which were large and flavorful) and crabcakes (which... More

Was in Hyannis doing some errands and needed a place for lunch, wanted to be near the water. Black Cat is right on the harbor. Had great service from Amanda, big smiles and very friendly. My parents live on the Cape so we go out for chowder often. Black Cat's was excellent - creamy with lots of clams. Also had... More

Our group of 10 had wonderful service and great food on a Friday night in December. The menu is filled with mouth-watering seafood offerings. The restaurant is across the street from the water and has a small patio on the front, which would have been a plus if it had been daylight!

NOT IMPRESSIVE. I am from the Cape and was looking for a place for lunch before a visit to the hospital complex. This was a weekday on the off season. We went to the harbor near the ferry terminal and found this Tavern. The parking was frustrating - off season and still had no real patron spots clearly marked; and... More

We were a family of 5 from England in Hyannis in the quiet season. Arrived at the Black Cat Tavern early in the evening (well early for English people) and were surprised to find so many diners. We shared a clam chowder which was excellent. Two of us then had fish and chips which were probably the best we've had.... More
