Lobster Roll - must have

If you are looking for a great lobster roll this is definitely a place you should check out. So much lobster that I did not even eat the bread. The outdoor heated seating area was a bit cramped.

When we visit New England we always search for the best lobster roll. The Black Cat Tavern had a huge lobster roll with claw and tail meat with just enough home-made mayo to hold it together. The toasted bun added just the right taste to this gigantic delight. The pineapple infused vodka was a perfect drink with this gastronomic adventure.... More

My husband and I just had dinner there tonight. NY husband had the lobster bisque which was good but he found a piece of hair in it. They replaced the bowl of bisque but offered no compensation on our bill. Waiter was very querky.

Had a delicious lunch at Black Cat Tavern & terrific blood orange martinis! Ahi tuna appetizer was wonderful & big enough to share, if you wanted. The fish & chips were the best we've ever had - the fish was super fresh. Service is very attentive & friendly. We'll be back!

We enjoyed our dinner here. My husband wanted something lighter and he got the baked scrod with baked potato and broccoli. He said it was very good. I got the lobster roll and it was good as well. We sat next to a window at the bar and could see the harbor. They had wifi and let my husband recharge... More

Love that most of their seafood and shellfish offerings are right from Barnstable Harbor and they take pride in that. Eating our way through New England and always try the NE (white) clam chowder. This was our favorite. Just a tad smokey and tangy (we guessed a little bacon, celery seed, and thyme). Tender, sweet clams. Perfect consistency and the... More

Being from the West coast we don't have lobster like the East so took advantage! The lobster roll was one of the best we had on our trip, was packed full of big chunks and not overwhelmed with mayo. We sat outside by a heater and enjoyed the scenery as much as our dinner. Service was prompt but also wasn't... More

I spent a few days working in Hyannis with my colleges. The Black Cat came to be our favorite spot to grab some food and beer after a long day of work. It's quite busy and the waiters/waitrisess are a bit stress. Even I became a bit stressed of seeing the manager's hawk eyes over the employees all the time.... More
