Great place to eat if returning to Boston on side roads

Looking for "last seafood" meal before flying out of Boston late. This was perfect spot. Had great ahi tuna "black and blue"; might have had lobster if desired. Nice views of harbor. Very crowded even early for dinner, but moved quickly. Waiter helpful. I was trying to prolong visit to Cape Cod by... read more

A beautiful, clean, simply decorated seafood restaurant overlooking the water with a popular bar, inside and outside dining, ample parking. Friendly and efficient wait staff. This seems to appeal to all age groups. Seems a bit expensive, wine a bit pricey, but you do get a nice pour and seafood is of highest quality, IMHO.

Dinner was just OK. Fish, haddock, in fish sandwich was great but sandwich was less than perfect. Bun way too dense for amount of fish. Mussels with garlic shallots and peppers tasted ok, so fresh at least, but were cooked way too much. Shriveled away to nothing. Manhattan clam chowder did not impress. Onion rings were great. Oysters too, though... More

Jake's has been around forever and is a New England seafood classic: on the water, open only seasonally, and serving up tons of super fresh lobsters, swordfish, chowda, etc. It's usually a scene for dinner with a wait, but insider's tip: go on a weeknight early in the week, and you can eat a full dinner on the drinks patio,... Delicious seafood and superb views. What more can one ask? Good service too! Try the fish & chips, fish tacos, lobster roll and soft-shell crab! No, didn't eat all that in one sitting but we are frequent visitors! 😁

We've eaten at Jake's many times and have always had a very good meal. Salads are always fresh and better-than-average in size -- with some grilled fish on top, they make for a great meal. Fish entrees have also been terrific -- again, very fresh quality and nicely prepared (e.g., fried fish isn't overly greasy). The only downside to Jake's... More

Everyone in our party was overwhelmed with the quality of the seafood meals at Jakes. You can't beat the location. Just across the street from Nantasket beach, you can go for a walk before or after your meal or ride the famous carousel and play mini golf. The indoor seating is lovely with plenty of bayside windows open for ocean... More

The steamed clams were large, tender, and sweet. Done perfectly. A large portion. The fried clams are not quite the same clam as the steamers, but were also sweet and tender. Portions are nice size. They seem a little disorganized in clearing tables. In season expect a long wait to be seated,. Could be 90 minutes on a week end... More

We were at Jake's last year during our family vacations and we really enjoyed our dinner. We went again this year (2015) and Jake hit a home run with us again! Great food, affordable wine, huge plates; our 3 girls (7, 8 and 9 years old) shared a pasta plate and they weren't able to finish it. Mom and dad... More
