If It Weren't So Noisy, It Would Be Excellent

The building is an old rustic house that has housed several iterations of restaurants through the years... some good and some that failed. The décor is somewhat quaint with a country feel. You can't miss here. Great menu. The haddock in corn chowder is terrific. Also, a great chicken pot pie.

Food good but non-special, that I can see. It is thriving on location. They train the staff to harass you constantly interrupting your visit. Rude and so young you know that they have been trained that way by managers. Whole feel wrong, for sit down, and at the bar only very little better. Apparently the staff/managers are waymore important than... More

This place continues it's tradition of really great food and service. The Caesar salad was fresh and had generous shavings of cheese on it. The sirloin tips were cooked perfectly and were tender and delicious. And their version of french fries - with a rosemary truffle oil - were truly a treat. Steak items are big on the menu, but... This is a great restaurant. Reservations are definitely required. We didn't have reservations and ended up sitting in the bar area which was fine with us. It was noisy in the bar but we made do. We were served bread and corn bread. The breads would have been better if served warm. I ordered the Filet Mignon. The steak melted... More

We Come Every Monday without fail. But decided to try something new "grass is not always greener on the other side" 1st photo is the somewhere new where we left as burn mussels that were cold to touch, then what we got here there was nothing left on plates. Husband was delighted as always. Won't try & leave you again... More

I've been to Scarlet Oak numerous times and have always loved sitting in the bar area. My husband brought me last night for my birthday dinner and we sat in the dining area because he wanted me to have the fine dining experience. The service and food was great, but if you're looking for a fine dining experience, this is... More

Have gone to Scarlet Oak a number of times and always have fun and a good meal. The bar area is nice and cozy and is great with the fire going. The dining room is standard but the food is good. Very happy with this place. Hip New England charm.

I have dined at the Scarlet Oak many times, and the food is usually good. The atmosphere in the restaurant is nice and the service is typically very good. I once had a less than acceptable meal at the bar but most of the time the food is good. The bar scene seems to have become quite popular with people... More

Was here on a last minute trip to the area. Dining room is lovely and the food was delicious. Restaurant was crowded but did not feel that way. My husband had the hanger steak frites which was very tasty. I had a swordfish special from farm to table. It was delicious. The quantity was good and if I had to... More
