First, I really like this restaurant. They really do a pretty good job of carrying on the Bishops tradition. Went there on a recent Friday night and spent over $300 for four. Of course two of us had the excellent 3# lobsters. Now, what's my beef? Well, the owner Bassam is usually present when we go, but never does intervene... More

Okay, I visited this restaurant on a weekend with my wife, daughter & her fiancée the first time around and wanted the Prime Rib. The Prime Rib was sold out so I settled for the Lamb Chops. This time around I went on a Wednesday night with a very close friend and I finally got my Prime Rib. Now I... More

I grew up with Bishops in Lawrence. It was one of the top ten restaurants in the country. The Arabic plate, the Syrian( now known as pita) bread, lamb on the stick, French fries and Baked Alaska are all memorable. Phoenician's is the best. They have replicated everything perfectly . I haven't lived there in 28 years, but my dad... More

My wife and I decided to join my daughter and her fiancée for Dinner on Saturday night. It was rather late so we chose a place close by I have to agree with another diner's review that it has the atmosphere of a funeral home and a little on the dark side. The food now that's a different story. We... More

A colleague of mine informed me that this restaurant was an attempt to restart the legendary Bishop's restaurant (at which I used to eat regularly). So with great memories of times past, I accompanied him to dinner this past Friday. The one bright shining moment of the entire meal - and I would like t state here that I am... More

I'm shocked to read two of the reviews here as being horrible. Are you kidding me?? These people are clueless when it comes to ranking the BEST restaurant in the Merrimack Valley. Step aside all of you fancy, over-priced restaurants and tourist-traps in Boston. The Phoenician has the greatest prime rib I've ever eaten in my life. Not that I'm... More

Went to the Phoenician on Thursday night. Tried it once before and was not pleased but had hoped that perhaps they had improved. Arrived just after 5:30 and the parking lot had only a couple cars in the yard. Should have taken that as a hint. We were with another couple and we ordered two of the dishes that the... More

I can't begin to tell you how bad the food was at this restaurant. Two of us ordered Tenderloin-on-a-stick, two of us ordered Lamb-on-a-stick. The lamb meals were pretty good, the tenderloin was horrible. The meat was overcooked, dry, zero flavor and on the edge of tasting spoiled. Needless to say we told our waitress and she was very polite... More
