Fine dining at reasonable prices

One of our favorite local restaurants, it has the atmosphere and quality cooking found in a fine-dining restaurant without being stuffy, pretentious or outrageously expensive. A solid wine list offers good accompaniments to the food but there is also a full bar for mixed drinks. The owner... read more

Loved the atmosphere of this restaurant, and there were intersting items on the menu. We were expecting a fine-dining experience but left disappointed. The food was more homestyle - good, but not great - and the portions were absolutely HUGE. If you are looking for a satisfying meal, eat here, although I think the prices are a bit steep for... Christian Schultz does it again. Food is great, service great, and it doesn't get any better than that.

We dine at L"Alouette several times a year and always find it excellent. The portions are tasty and served well. Presentation is done skillfully. Service is attentive. The Pre fix menu offered off season is a bargain. The Cajun swordfish on this menu was outstanding last night.

L'Alouette is a mainstay for us. We've recommended this restaurant to many people, and they report back that it's also a favorite. I usually order the steak because it's probably the best on the Cape. Chicken is so tender and tasty. My husband loves the lamb. I was afraid once it changed hands that it would not live up to... Odd that nearly 4 years into living in this Harwich/ Brewster/Orleans area, this is our 1st visit to L'Alouette Bistro. It does not disappoint, at all. It will cost you, but remember you get what you pay for; and to soften that, do note that a tremendous dining experience can be had with the use of the Prix Fixe menus.... More

We haven't been here in a while since Christian, the new owner took over. Because the restaurant now offers a prixe fix menu on Thursday through Sunday, we decided to try it once again, and am I glad we did! First, the prixe fix menu is $27, quite reasonable. Next, there are many options to choose from when selecting your... More

If what you are looking for is a meal that delivers you to another place in time, say the South of France on honeymoon, without having to go anywhere, L'Alouette is worth a visit. Although I imagine reservations are usually a good idea, two of us walked in last night on a whim, were seated immediately at one of only... More
