A friend of mine and I wanted to try a "new" place for breakfast one Sunday. We cruised around for awhile, reviews in hand, and found ourselves in Harwich and Bonatt's. We were looking for breakfast…..some eggs, toast, the usual. We heard about these breakfast rolls that were the specialty of the house, the "melt-away". We ordered one to try and... More

While walking the downtown area exploring the different shops I came across Bonatt's bakery and who can pass by a bakery with the sweet smell of fresh baked goods. There are a wide assortment of fresh pasteries, breads, cookies , sandwiches and soft drinks to choose from. At the counter they also offer samples of some of the products. There is... More

I got an apple pie (Belgian style) waffle with whipped cream and it was to die for! It was the perfect balance of sweet and filling. The place is absolutely adorable, with a beachy feel. Very clean and the staff were all fun and friendly. There is a bakery on the other side. There was a 'dessert' called a meltaway... More

Our family looks forward to coming to Harwichport so that we can hit Bonatt's for breakfast…and this year we were sorely disappointed. This place used to be awesome, with a line out the door! We were the ONLY people in the restaurant for the first half of our breakfast. Our waitress acted like she would rather be anywhere else, which... More

We stopped in to try tge famous meltaways while staying in Harwich Port. The meltaways were ok but I found it to be rather blah. We did however really enjoy their dirt bomb muffin.

For many years, Bonatt's specialized in breakfasts (served from morning through lunchtime.) This year they've changed and are focusinjg more on lunch items. And that's the problem. The unique breakfast items (i.e., lobster omelets) are no longer offered. The crab benedict has been reduced in size although the price has remained the same. The best thing about Bonatt's is still... More

Over the years I have eaten here scores of times. We used to wait 45 minutes for a table. No longer worth the wait. It's ok, but nothing special. When they stopped giving a complimentary "Meltaway"pastry with breakfast it started the road to just average. My wife had a veggie omelet that was supposed to contain a variety of veggies... More

This is a great place for breakfast. They have meltaways that are to die for. Breakfast is reasonable and very tasty. Service is always good and prompt.

Nice little breakfast place. Try the Meltaways -- tasty mildly-spiced rolls that make great French Toast. They used to give them with the table, but new management cut that back -- but for a few bucks you can enjoy them still!

I like a nice hearty omelet and for the $ I'd say they are a little skimpy on the portion size. They have the bakery next door so there are lots of sweet rolls, muffins, sugar buns and cookies to choose from if that is your weakness.
