Wonderful evening

WOW! What a superb evening! We chose a table by the window and watched the sun set. The pianist was amazing, effortlessly playing tunes of a bygone era. Just wonderful! My Swai fish with vegetables was cooked to perfection and my other halfs pork medallions were just as good. We had a bottle of... read more

We were dining with another senior couple and wanted a place where we could easily hear each other. Though it was a minor holiday weekend, we were nearly the only diners. There was pleasant, live background music. Our friends raved about the Cesar salad and my husband (a self-proclaimed connoisseur) said the meatloaf was excellent. The rest of us had... More

What a lovely dinner I had. The ambiance is a pleasing combination of elegance and relaxed country. The welcome was warm and genuine. The food was lovingly prepared. Very pleasant music accompanied my meal. It is on my must return list.

We had a wonderful dinner. Absolutely nothing to complain about. The pianist played beautifully. The ambience was nostalgic of earlier days. It is a true New England experience. A must try. We will definitely go again.

The vista from the dining room is outstanding. The food was fair. One meal was overcooked. They did replace it with another plate cooked as ordered originally. Dinner arrived slowly even though we were the only diners. The server was pleasant. The specials were described, but no prices were indicated. We did order desserts but were surprised to see a... Four of us went to the Point Restaurant, each ordering a separate entree, to sample the food in our search for a venue for our son's wedding rehearsal dinner. All the food was prepared properly and presented very nicely. Pricing was fair and we decided to book the restaurant for the rehearsal dinner. For the rehearsal dinner we chose 2... More

In a world of pubs and bustling nouvelle cuisine and infusions this place is a definite refresher. We were seated in the restaurant at Thornewood Inn, Tastefully set with respectable ambiance. We were immediately greeted and welcomed by our server. Offered refreshments and given a list of specials of the day. The owner came along to check on us as... More

Went back to The Point at the Thornwood Inn for a second time and we had a very lovely evening. The service, background music & staff were beautiful, like times gone by. And the food: the beef medallion special & the seafood special were out of this world. And the peach cobbler was superb. Would recommend & have recommended this... More

Having read some of the reviews, I decided that I wanted to try this place. Most of the negatives posted previously were discussing the rooms and not the restaurant. I have to say I was also " pleasantly surprised" at how good everything was, from the ambience, music, food and attentive service. We were greeted by the owner who is... More

Went to The Point at the Thornwood Inn and we had a very lovely evening. Good service, excellent bread, good wine, good homemade dishes. Lovely soft and smooth live piano, with the very talented owner sitting in on bass, guitar and some fine, balanced and sensitive vocals. He sings well. Actually, he sings really good. We had a great evening.... More
