Excellent food, reasonable prices

I have been here a few times and every time the food is excellent. The chef is superb. There are two areas to eat, one by the bar and the other a seperate dining room. Both areas are fine, depending on what you are looking for. The bar area is a bit dark and noiser. The dining room is light... read more

Sat at the busy bar on a friday evening. Witnessed efficiency and first class service , all with a relaxed style. Cocktails were prepared classically . Wine pours were generous. The staff worked well together and the diners seemed content . Overall there appeared to be a fair mix of locals and regular weekenders in from the city. There was... More

Found this place due to reviews from other visitors to the area; very pleased we found it! The food was excellent, the staff was fantastic as well. Due to the holiday the place was empty around 7PM and we got a table right away. Comfy setting and lovely art work by a local painter. There were great options for vegetarians... More

I love the live music, the food is just average and not cheap. I would skip the dining and just go to the bar for the music. I have lived in the area for 15 years.

I was there on very snowy Thanksgiving Eve 2014 and sat at bar. I met one of the friendliest attentive bartenders ever. This is a major compliment from a 150 night a year travelller for nearly 30 years. She was welcoming as I was local although just passing thru. The food was outstanding and the wine pours were generous. This... More

Based on what we had heard around town we had high hopes for our diner at Castle St.. We loved the atmosphere and the live jazz. The real candle and fresh cut flowers on the table were a nice touch. However, the food was lacking in flavor and didn't live up to the expectations of the menu description or the... More

A group of us ate here and really enjoyed the experience. The range of meals was very good, service was pretty good if lacking the final polish that makes one feel indulged and the food that arrived was generally tasty, well presented and satisfying but I did feel the salads were unimpressive and very over-priced. Beetroot salad supposedly of two... More

I am giving this restaurant a "terrible" (1 star), rather than a "poor" (2 star) rating because it is so expensive. We went here because there were no other places that could take 6 people. The yelp reviews were much more mixed than the TripAdvisor reviews, but we went because we had to. The service was OK. the wait staff... More

Liked the turn of the century atmosphere and the food. Thought it was a little expensive but it was our first evening eating out on the east coast for many years.
