One of the best in the Berkshires . Excellent Greeting , Bar and table service makes the Diner guest feel welcome and at home.
Based on what we had heard around town we had high hopes for our diner at Castle St.. We loved the atmosphere and the live jazz. The real candle and fresh cut flowers on the table were a nice touch. However, the food was lacking in flavor and didn't live up to the expectations of the menu description or the... More
A group of us ate here and really enjoyed the experience. The range of meals was very good, service was pretty good if lacking the final polish that makes one feel indulged and the food that arrived was generally tasty, well presented and satisfying but I did feel the salads were unimpressive and very over-priced. Beetroot salad supposedly of two... More
I am giving this restaurant a "terrible" (1 star), rather than a "poor" (2 star) rating because it is so expensive. We went here because there were no other places that could take 6 people. The yelp reviews were much more mixed than the TripAdvisor reviews, but we went because we had to. The service was OK. the wait staff... More
Liked the turn of the century atmosphere and the food. Thought it was a little expensive but it was our first evening eating out on the east coast for many years.

Try to attend on a night when there's music, which is often good. Get there early, have dinner, and kick back with a beer or a bottle of wine and enjoy. You will not be rushed. Food is perfectly respectable, though not memorable. Service is efficient and knowledgable.
We were going to a concert at the Mahaiwe Theater, so decided to try the Castle Street Café, right next door. It was a very good choice. The service was very attentive, the food very good and attractive and we had plenty of time to make the concert. They use only fresh, local products for their dishes and you can... More
From the photos and reviews on their web site we had high hopes. The reality was less than expected. Service was perfunctory and a bit lackadaisical. Most of the food was fine if not truly inspired. Presentations were decidedly prosaic. The Gazpacho was served in a chilled white bowl with nary a garnish. The steamed vegetables accompanying most entrees were... More
Loved this place! The 2 sisters who run this restaurant are affable and kind, and run a great restaurant. the food is delicious. The art on the walls is beautiful. We got to hear a wonderful jazz ensemble in the bar area on a Friday night. It was so good I went back on Saturday night, too!
