Above average dining, and a fun vibrant atmosphere. Some of their fish dishes are superb. You cannot go wrong dining here, plus it is on Railroad street so it is right near movie theatre, live jazz and other entertainment and galleries.

I am never disappointed at Bizen! I chose to get a Bento Box. Seitan Kushi Katsu. The box comes with two skewers of panko crusted seitan and green onions, steamed daikon and broccoli with an awesome sesame sauce, a cucumber maki roll, some tempeh, Japanese pickle and some thinly sliced fresh fruit. The sauce for the Katsu is outstanding and... More

We were told by a shopkeeper in town that this was a great sushi restaurant. To call this place great is a definite exaggeration. The people working here were terrific. The hostess (an African American lady) was especially wonderful. The waitress was also very pleasant. Unfortunately the food was marginal at best. The edamame was over cooked. The miso soup... More

This sushi was outstanding! Fresh fish, no mayo, and very little rice. This restaurant features dairy free desserts that are amazing! Great quality sake and excellent attentive service! I highly recommend this restaurant if you are a sushi lover!

I love this place. Such authentic cuisine. To find such quality in this area is rare, and we are lucky to have it. Could the menu please be more manageable? It's so confusingly written that I honestly avoid it from time to time because I know i'll just order the same thing, the Macro Biotic Platter and some roll, so... More

A friend and I stopped by for lunch today. It wasn't crowed and we seated right away. The menu is extensive and very inspired. I ordered the chicken katsu and found it delicious. It was light and crispy and very flavorful. Our Russian waiter was a surprise and delightful. The portions were ample and the preparation and presentations were thoughtful.... More

We took a sixteen hour bus ride from the Chicago to participate in a hockey tournament held at different prep schools in MA, NY and CT. After a long ride, countless hours in cold rinks, a good meal was greatly needed and anticipated. The atmosphere is nice but nothing spectacular. But the owner, whose name we forgot to get, spent... Bizen has some of the best flavors offered for cuisine in the Berkshires. Follow these guidelines for a delicious meal...Their ume scallion salad dressing should not be missed. The rolls are also tasty. I am not a fan of the oysters. I am a fan of the hijiki, agé tofu, any grilled items and lunch specials. Any maki roll whether... More

First off, our server was awesome! She took plenty of time to help show us the various menus and find just the right sake. Have to give kudos to the host as well who found us a good table and made sure we were comfortable. But the food was somewhat of a letdown. We opted for some appetizers and sushi... More

We opted to sit at low tables, where you take off your shoes. The food is always fresh, and delicious. The plates are easily shared, and you always end up ordering too much. The restaurant is busy and noisy, but they have many different seating areas. they offer a full bar, and plum wines and sake. For some reason the... More
