This may have been the best sushi/sashimi meal we have ever eaten

To preface, we love sushi/sashimi, and have dined in Japanese restaurants in most major cities and in dozens of countries. Two of our favorites are Masa, in the TimeWarner Center in NYC Masa which transports diners from the busy shopping center into a 26-seat zen-like sushi temple. Chef Masayoshi... read more

I LOVE the sushi here, and I strongly recommend going omakase, letting the chef choose. The owner takes the art of sushi quite seriously. Lots of non-sushi options as well. If you have celiac and must eat gluten free, this place is a haven. I had the tempura on my last visit because it was there, and it was fabulous.

After eating a starch - laden meal the previous night, my body was crying for fresh vegetables. I found them here! The salad was light and fresh, grilled eggplant appetizer was so tender and deliciously smoky, it needed no condiment. I got a huge platter of tempeh, tofu, Seitan and a mountain of lightly grilled vegetables. The ginger sauce on... More

I was ready to try some new maki rolls for a change this summer, but due to the rainy then cool weather, I stuck with the healthy steamed greens with umeboshi plum-scallion dressing and the tiger shrimp tempura with soba noodles. Over the years, Bizen has consistently made these dishes flavorful, never skimping. The tiger shrimp are really fresh, so... More

Went for dinner as someone had mentioned this place. Food was very good, many vegetarian options. Food was cooked perfectly and brought to table pretty quickly. Presentation was very nicely done. We both chose non sushi items. Place was very crowded and the table was quite small. This is understandable due to this restaurant's popularity.

My spouse,Granddaughter and I had a very pleasant late lunch here today. The food was exceptionally fresh, the service excellent and the prices very fair. In addition, the owner Michael, who was also the sushi chef, was extremely accommodating and super cordial with our Granddaughter. We will be bringing all of our 12 member family members back when they visit from Florida over the... More

Above average dining, and a fun vibrant atmosphere. Some of their fish dishes are superb. You cannot go wrong dining here, plus it is on Railroad street so it is right near movie theatre, live jazz and other entertainment and galleries.
