We found Aroma (along with Bombay in Lee) to be one of the best Indian restaurants in the area. It's family run and the couple who manage cooking and serving clearly are dedicated to making certain that their customers are well taken care of and leave happy.

Aroma is consistently very good. I have been driving the hour down to Great Barrington for years for their delicious food with fresh ingredients and great flavor and it is absolutely worth it. I love their nans, rices and chicken dishes. I am sensitive to spices and they always manage to make dishes that have intense flavors without tongue searing... More

.Our friends, who are locals and have visited this retaurant in the past, took us here for lunch. We were a party of 9, including 5 kids ages 7-17 Usually when you are travelling, you tend to keep to the kind of foods that you are sure your kids will eat, like pasta or bugers. But the children were open... More

We were attending a festival, but wanted to get away. On a Saturday, we picked Aroma because it was close. We explained to the owner we needed to get done, and we finished 10 minutes earlier than we hoped. The best part was the food was excellent. We tried 2 types of the bread - plain and spinach. We had... More

We had a lovely dinner at Aroma. The soups were exceptional, particularly the mulligatawny. The appetizers were good, but not as fabulous as the soups. The main dishes were very good and, yes, the vindaloo was really spicy. The Indian ice cream for dessert was excellent. This is a family owned restaurant, and the owner's children, who help out, add... More

I usually dread going to ethnic restaurants in rural areas far from NYC, but was pleasantly surprised by Aroma. When I lived in NY I went to the best Indian restaurants on Curry Hill/Lexington or in Queens. So I have a frame of reference. Will definitely return. Warning the vindaloos are even too hot for ME!

Since I have only eaten Indian food here, I cannot compare it to anything else. I do know that the quality of the food it great. I don't think you will be disappointed.

I go here every so often when I am in Great Barrington and I want Indian food. My husband and I went here just a few days ago and it is usually very quiet and not many people are dining there for lunch. The ambiance has a lot to be desired (very dated and dark), but we go for the... More

We had a great dinner here. I ordered the veggie thali and my husband got the mixed grill plate. Overall the seasoning was very nice and they adjusted the spice level to our requests. Unlike many Indian places we've been too, the food did not have excess oil. Would definitely come back.

this place is honest indian food with out the noisy sitar in the back round, have eaten there often, everything you order is always great. Something must have happened this day as the service was not up to par, the waiter was slow, the food came fast(always a good thing) but the lady cleared our table didn.t even ask if... More
