The "hip"piest place around

We've been eating at this "joint" for years and it's always one of the highlights of our trips to the Berkshires. The casual, bohemian atmosphere fits the laid back, relaxed vibe of the Berkshires. This was a nice, casual place with very good food. Don't expect any rushing around here...they are, after all, hippies. The food is innovative, fresh and well prepared.

Wonderful locally sourced food, innovative menu and an eclectic atmosphere. A friendly restaurant with live music and a diverse menu. Definately worth a stop!

Firstly, have an open mind. This establishment is unique, eclectic, and fun! It is a "hippie spot" in appearance and everyone there from workers to other patrons were friendly and nice! The food is incredible, I really can't say enough about it! I had the Al Cappone, twice! And you HAVE to try the cinnamon buns! They weigh about eight... More

I have been to Gypsy Joynt a few times. I always felt rather put off by the staff, who give a very stand-offish vibe. I also didn't particularly like their menu selections as a lot of the ingredient combinations are just weird. However, I did like their salad when I ordered it. Unfortunately, last time I was there I ordered... More

Interesting and ecletic. Penny arcade plus well-prepared southern style menu. Example: we had waffles with chicken in a delicious sauce; biscuit with pork (#7) with special sauce. Flavorful and homemade. Family run business. Friendly staff/owners. Revolving art show in the bathrooms. Can't wait for our next trip to Gt Barrington to re-visit.

I just had one of the best sandwiches! I just wish it had been bigger, but as far as taste, it was was fantastic. The house-made foccacia was wonderful and not too thick so the sandwich fillings were really the star of the show: roasted beets, dates, artichokes, avocado, baby spinach, herbed seeds, goat cheese, and an orange/honey yogurt. Wow!... More

Unique place to go for great eats, reading the walls & checking out the decor, people watching, and music. Family owned; home cooked food, local fresh ingredients. Substantial portions are a great value! Order at the counter and bus your own dishes.

This is a very cool place with Live Music, and original decor. Family owned business with good food at reasonable prices. Its a very 60's kind of place. Pizza was very good also. Food is ordered at the counter and they bring it to you. You then clean your own table. As a Musician I felt right at home there.... More
