My husband and I have eaten here once, on Saturday October 11, 2014. Several years ago while in the area we ate at nearby John Andrews and wanted to go back... They were booked on this night. So we came here to Allium and visited John Andrews the next night. Comparing the two, I prefer Allium because I liked the... More

This charming store front fine dining spot was friendly fun and elegant all at once. Really liked the small plates that allowed us to try this and that. Service was exceptional and the food was top notch.

This is a beautiful space in a great location in Great Barrington. Driving home from Vermont, we made a reservation through OpenTable. We were early for our reservation. The hostess first seated us at a table in the bar area but wen we objected were given a nice table in the restaurant area. Allium has, apparently, a menu that changes... More

This restaurant in a larger city would have been packed on a Saturday night. The restaurant was one recommended by the desk staff at our hotel. Yes, the menu is a little unusual if you are looking for classic American fare or a meat and three kind of place, but if you appreciate that dining should also be an experience,... More

We stopped here for dinner after a movie in Great Barrington and were glad we did. We shared several Small Plates and each was delicious and quite different than anything we had ever had before. We began with a Squash and Kale Soup with poached egg. While most squash soups tend towards the sweeter side being bisque-like, this was savory... More

Allium was recommended to us and whilst we have no complaints about the food....although it pays to enjoy vegetarian food....the place lacked atmosphere. Would we return? Not sure...there are many other restaurants in Great Barrington and Stockbridge that we would try first.

We were eager to return to the Allium after a memorable dinner in the Summer of 2013. The Autumn menu is delicious with many seasonal options and lots of interesting flavor combinations. Tops for us were the fried pickled red onions, pork belly steams buns and the hanger steak. Dessert was a delight and service was very good. Will definitely... More

Interesting food options and good wine selection. I suggest you reserve ahead. We shared a few appetizers and this worked well. Mains were fine, but wine choice was worth your selection.

Nice setting, very busy, but there were several amateur errors that took the edge off the evening: 1) you need to ask for bread -- OK, no problem, and it came and was fine. So, they took the plates and then returned 5 minutes later apologizing for not bringing it, and then brought some more. 2) they have that American... More

This is a great restaurant with a varied menu and where you can enjoy half portions and try many new things. The service is friendly and crisp and the food is fresh and delicious, most of it sourced locally. You cannot go wrong here.
