The headline says it all. Particularly to be recommended are the fries pickled red onions. I ordered them almost as a joke because I like to explore improbable foods. Although the portion was very large I didn't get to eat t as much as I wanted, because the other three people at the table, after laughing at me, tried them... More

I think I had greater expectations for Allium than were met and so I had trouble writing this review. The food was 4-star and we (four of us) had the mussels, the flank steak, the burger, and the pork carnitas tacos - all were delicious, the mussels in particular were a delight for someone wishing to return vicariously to Bangkok.... On my recent trip to the Berkshires I stopped at Allium for dinner upon a friends request, so wonderful. larger appetizer/small plate menu with farm focus nothing disappointing, but service was a bit slow. Overall, I will go back when in GB.

I've been to Allium thrice although my wife has been there more. Some years ago I had one of my best meals ever at it. Alas, that was some years ago. We are in the Barrington area several times a year and always look forward to a nice dinner to cap the day. Friday night. There were Five extended waits: (i)... More

We really enjoyed our meal here. My husband - a serious fish enthusiast - exclaimed "WOW!" involuntarily after tasting his fabulous halibut. We both thoroughly enjoyed our beet salad, and my skirt steak was also deliciously prepared. We went simple for dessert with Blue Marble ginger ice cream - a brand we hadn't seen elsewhere - and were delighted with... More

At the recommendation of a chef supply store in town we dropped by Allium. Pleasant seating in a minimally decorated but comfortable dining room, what to order? My wife selected tagliatelle, I opted for the burger. A creative Manhattan was served, a server kept our water glasses filled. After a simple yet delicious deviled egg snack, the meals arrived. The... More

Second visit here with friends. Don't remember the menu being so unusual. Many things we were not willing to take a flyer on even though we are generally adventuresome. It was very good -- but I would check the menu before I went. Our friends shared a raw kale salad each ordered pizza (individual). Not traditional NY-style slices but small... More

Remarkable food - they try to do things a little differently, and almost always succeed. Service was slow, and the server seemed uninterested in us.

I see that there are some negative reviews, particularly of the service, but they appear to be old, and far from the experience we had. There were four of us, and, when we arrived, the hostess greeted us by asking whether we preferred the ambiance of the bar or a quieter meal in the dining area, which, since we all... More

Food at Allium is very good, but our experience was less so. Made a reservation a month in advance. I called at 5 p.m. the day of to confirm. Got to the restaurant well on time. They had lots of empty tables but seemed flustered at our arrival. Sat our party of four at a table for six in the... More
