They said the cranberry scones were unbeatable. They said the olive bread was delicious. They were right. When staying in Gloucester it is our family's tradition to have breakfast on the beach at least once. After reading the reviews on Trip Advisor, we decided to pick up some morning goodies at Alexandra's. We were not disappointed. Best. Scones. Ever.

if you can get it! They sell out very quickly! But if you need it for a party lets say, you can call ahead and reserve the number of loaves you need. This bread is so good that it is a repeat request for our roving dinner party people (foodies all).

This is, truly, the best bread you have ever tasted. I bring it with me whenever I'm invited to dinner anywhere. (I always say, "I'll bring the bread and cookies." After which,....they always say...."don't come again unless you bring Alexandra's Bread and cookies." The cranberry scones are also the "best" you will have ever eaten. The rolls made from the... The store is tiny, a mom and pop operation. The hours are brief: it's better to order your bread or cookies by phone the night before. BUT the bread is fabulous: textured, tasty, keeps well. This is REAL bread. There are also insane cranberry scones, chocolate biscotti and chunky homemade cookies. The store is also packed with colorful and nostalgic... More

Small little bakery on a main road run by a couple who bake their own goods every day except Monday. Basic breads, brownies and the best chocolate chip cookies anywhere. Very retro, lots of small retro gifts and goodies for sale. Quiet, peaceful friendly owners. Don''t trip over their cute children who occasionally pop out from behind the counter! I... More

Alexandra's is a regular stop for us. The bread is consistently delicious and the cookies are a great temptation. They are a small, family run bakery and have a limited supply. The offerings change daily, so you can't always be guaranteed of finding what you bought the last time you visited (although they will tell you what days they make... More

Great tasting bread, fresh from the oven - if only they made enough to go around.

This family-owned bakery is the best on Cape Ann. Good selection of breads, outrageous chocolate-chip cookies and killer scones. Bread sells out fast and the locals know to reserve it in advance.
