Delicious food & great service in a cozy, art-filled space.

High marks all around: High-quality, delicious food with lots of fresh, local produce and seafood. Creative dishes. Intimate atmosphere with great local artwork on display. Excellent service. Passports is our favorite Gloucester restaurant. It's best to call ahead and make a reservation.

i was not impressed when we went last evening for dinner. service was perfunctory at best. the 'popovers' [their version of bread] were unceremoniously plunked down on our plates without a word. the menu is ok, but not particularly inventive and it is very pricey. we had the fish and chips and a bowl of gumbo. the gumbo tasted like... I recently returned to Passport's after an extended absence - and remembered why it's never been my "go to" place in Gloucester. Although the food is good and well-prepared, it's "home-style" rather than "foodie" style. I may as well eat at home. On the plus side: The popovers are a nice touch. The kitchen was accommodating to dietary restrictions and... More

Passports was a lovely, quaint, surprise in Gloucester. It is a great date night spot. We love the special, a steak with lobster sauce. The sauce was amazing with large chunks of lobster and a lovely, slightly rich, sauce. The lobster was so-so, though. Not something I would order again. And, the pop overs were a nice change of pace... More

Given all the good reviews we tried Passports and were absolutely pleased with it. The popovers indeed were a hit instead of the usual bread, but we were even more impressed by the quality and creativity of the dishes we had. The tuna on lo mein noodles with vegetables was fantastic and so was the "best of both worlds". Great... More

Downtown dining atmosphere for a couple / group. The food is usually very good (LOVE the popovers) and it is also well priced (not too expensive). The location makes it easy to walk Main Street and stop in any of the myriad of stores or bars along the way. The atmosphere is perfect for a date (not the place to... More

Fun creative fare, extensive beer and wine list, cool art on display and the two veteran servers, sally and Johnny, are a floor show unto themselves

It had been several years since I had been to Passports. My first and only visit all those years ago left me not wanting to go back. Primarily because it did not live upto my expectations. When I found out I was going there last weekend for a family birthday dinner, I was not looking forward to it. Well, I... More

The food is always fresh and flavorful. The servers are professional and attentive. Try the Adriatic Seafood Stew; it's healthy and light. They also have the best fish tacos in Gloucester.
