The largest, thickest and best tasting haddock I've ever had. That is all that is needed to say for this exception restaurant. Oh yes the bucket of steamers were just as good.

We took a break from the beach at Stage Fort Park and drove here to pick up some takeout. The bowl of chowder and soup combination is delicious and a phenomenal deal. My husband had the twin lobsters, as always, and they were great. Our friends were new to Causeway and they were also very happy with their lunch. We... More

A hole in the wall, but amazing food. We ate there several times. Their clam chowder is the best around!

I wrote an earlier review about this restaurant and wanted to respond to the person who complained about the meal he had here. First I want to point out that he went to the restaurant on a Monday. Nuf said. There are very few fish restaurants that you should risk on a Monday or Tuesday. I make it a point... More

Our family of 5 ventured here after a day at the beach. We arrived just before 5pm on a Monday and the place was half full. By the time we left it was bustling and folks were waiting to be seated. The prices were reasonable and the portions very good. My youngest son had a kid's meal of fish and... More

The food is superb and the venue is your typical diner style atmosphere. We enjoy returning to Causeway for the over sized portions (one entree can be split and think you would still be hungry) and delicious entrees. Remarkably good value! We love the mussels and calamari entree and the baked haddock special. No reservations, but we placed our name... More

Classic divey/local seaside restaurant. I went here on a late June Friday at 2 and it was packed. We waited about 45 minutes for a "15 minute wait" but it was worth it. The clam chowder was outstanding and the fried clams were very good. French fries were meh. But they really know how to fry their seafood correctly! I... More

sure it could be on "diners, drive-ins and dives" but the food is outstanding, the portions huge and the prices very reasonable. You cannot get any fresher seafood anywhere, friendlier service anywhere or a better value anywhere. The restaurant will probably be upset for me telling you this, but two people can easily share a meal. You could go to... More

Used to be a time there was elbow room and wasnt overloaded with tourist. Times have changed along with the prices. U can get the same food and service elsewhere with room to move in your chair and have some kinda atmosphere. This place lacks that. Quality of food was great as always. Outpriced themselves compared to before they get... More

We ate at and reviewed the Causeway about a year ago, and came back on a return trip. Not much has changed -- solid seafood, nothing really remarkable but all tasty. A great spot for local-watching. BYOB, no reservations. Portions are mammoth We love the seafood marinara in particular but be forewarned -- one serving could feed most of the... More
