We visited the Causeway Restaurant on our first night in Gloucester, we just arrived in town and check the reviews and headed over. We checked in and had about 1/2 hour wait - since it is across from Cape Ann Marina there where plenty of nat's dining on us! So you may want some bug spray or wait in your... More

The Causeway is a must if you are in Glouster. From the outside it looks very rundown and if I wasn't told by a local to try it I would never have given this place a second look. The dining room is very dark and crowded. If you are looking for ambiance this isn't the place BUT if you are... More

Don't order appetizers because the dinners are HUGE! The clam chowder is the best in New England, which we started off with plus their delicious onion rings! By the time my fresh seafood platter arrived, I co uldn't finish because the portions are very generous.

This visit was with family members who had never been. THEY LOVED IT!! Haddock Parmigiana? OMG! It was sooo delicious and sooo plentiful. I had half of it at the Causeway, and the rest came home with me to be served the next night. Fried scallops were perfectly cooked, as were the fried clams. Peter's Platter was a hit and... More

The largest, thickest and best tasting haddock I've ever had. That is all that is needed to say for this exception restaurant. Oh yes the bucket of steamers were just as good.

We took a break from the beach at Stage Fort Park and drove here to pick up some takeout. The bowl of chowder and soup combination is delicious and a phenomenal deal. My husband had the twin lobsters, as always, and they were great. Our friends were new to Causeway and they were also very happy with their lunch. We... More

A hole in the wall, but amazing food. We ate there several times. Their clam chowder is the best around!

I wrote an earlier review about this restaurant and wanted to respond to the person who complained about the meal he had here. First I want to point out that he went to the restaurant on a Monday. Nuf said. There are very few fish restaurants that you should risk on a Monday or Tuesday. I make it a point... More

Our family of 5 ventured here after a day at the beach. We arrived just before 5pm on a Monday and the place was half full. By the time we left it was bustling and folks were waiting to be seated. The prices were reasonable and the portions very good. My youngest son had a kid's meal of fish and... More

The food is superb and the venue is your typical diner style atmosphere. We enjoy returning to Causeway for the over sized portions (one entree can be split and think you would still be hungry) and delicious entrees. Remarkably good value! We love the mussels and calamari entree and the baked haddock special. No reservations, but we placed our name... More
