If you let the looks from the road, and the lack of parking scare you away, you will really a great meal. My wife and I visited on a Tuesday evening at around 6:00, we were seated within 5 minutes, but by the time we were leaving, there was quite a line. The food was fantastic: I had the Lobster... We always make it a point to come to the Causeway for dinner or lunch when we come to Gloucester because the food, service and prices never disappoints us. I just love the lobster pie, cant get enough of it, my son LOVES the chowder and the fried native (whole belly) clams are amazing. No other establishment in the area... More

Amazing waitress in a less than adequate place. My dish of clams linguine was inedible. Huge amount of pasta with tiny pieces of chopped up tough clams with mostly butter sauce---Which is their white sauce. The waitress did not charge me for this dish. Fried clams okay. Waited 20-30 minutes to go into extremely loud , chaotic place.

We were warned that the parking lot would be full of people standing around like the fire alarm had been set off but they're out there waiting for a table. It's a wait alright but it's well worth it! This is how seafood was meant to be served. Lots and good! Bucket list stop in Glosta for Lobsta!

The restaurant is nothing special, a small place crammed with people just wanting good food. We had to wait about 25 min for a table, but they seems to love people in rather quickly. Once inside it's just a small room with simple tables and chairs, be prepared to be close to the other dinners. The chowder comes in a... More

On a friend's recommendation we stopped here for lunch while on vacation in this area last week. We had "The Fish Chowder," and a salad. The bowl was filled brim to brim. All I can say is - YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS CHOWDER. OMG! We were lucky that day, maybe it was after the lunch rush, but there was... More

The Causeway is unique with its rustic atmosphere and BYOB style. It is noisy and crowded. If you are looking for an excellent meal, and lots of it, this is your kind of venue. You may not be able to carry on much conversation but you will not go away hungry. The price is certainly right. Give it a try.... More

The Causeway is one of our favorite places to eat in Gloucester. It is very small and you may have to wait, depending on the day and size of your party; however, the wait is well worth it. On our most recent adventure, I had a bowl of fish chowda (chowder) AND MY HUSBAND HAD LOBSTER PIE. Yes, I capitalized... More
