Been to Gloucester many times never knew of this place. It is definitely one of my must return to restaurants in the New England area. The seafood is beyond fresh and well prepared. We were in a group of 12 with various orders and appetizers as well. The service was good and the food was served HOT :).

This was our second trip to this restaurant. We were in Gloucester last summer and were directed here when we asked a townsperson where the locals go for seafood. We were warned that there would be a wait, but it was worth it. We had to go back when in the area again this fall! I don't care for seafood,... More

The food is plentiful, delicious, and incredibly reasonably priced for the amount you receive. I'm forever spoiled by their onion rings. They are the best I've ever had.

I passed this restaurant on my way into town and it didn't catch my eye. After meeting up with a family member in town we went to the Causeway for lunch at her suggestion. The place was full so we gave our name and sat outside enjoying the sunshine and conversations with departing diners who were raving about the food... More

This was recommended to us by a local. Causeway is a small unassuming restaurant that serves up some of the best food I have ever had. One day I had a bowl of their clam chowder and it was out of this world. Thick, meaty (clammy) well seasoned and served hot... and plenty of it, for seven bucks! I liked... More

We chose this place because of reviews, and, boy, were they right! Definitely not fine dining, but a truly local spot--very, very popular based on the non-stop takeout orders we watched leave the restaurant. We had the seafood florentine and the baked haddock. They were wonderful, and more than plenty. I'm so glad we have Tripadvisor--it hasn't failed us yet!

Great seafood. I loved the haddock. Fresh and more than enough! Limited seating. Home-like atmosphere. Close quarters If you don't mind people sitting very close to you, this is a great place to eat!

The wife and I went there week before last while on vacation. It is nothing special to look at from the outside but the food and quantities are just unbelievable--hugh !!! The food was the best we had on our trip but be ready to split a dish. the food was hot-fresh and just cooked perfect. The prices are right also.

We were so unfortunate as to not be able to eat our take out fish and chips right away the last time we ordered from here. Everything got a little soft and soggy, as that meal always will if left sitting. But the flavor was still excellent and I've learned in the past that, eaten right away, the fish and... More
