Great fish right of the boats any way you like it. The spot is nothing to right home about but the food is fantastic fresh and cheap.

We have been going to the causeway for years and have recommended it to just about all of our friends. Although nothing fancy the food is excellent and huge portions. They do not have a liquor license so you can bring your own wine, beer, bottle of Vodka etc. The clam chowder is thick and creamy and one of my... More

I arrived after the tourist season so the locals were returning to the restaurant. They didn't have a liquor license so I had to go down the road to buy beer and bring it back. The shrimp pie was an odd thing and not quite to my taste.

Very, very casual, super busy place with a Lobster Pie you will never forget. I'd read it's the lazy man's way to eat lobster, which is correct - no effort at all. I was expecting something like a pot pie, so I was delighted when I was served a huge mound of out of the shell lobster topped with buttered... More

Looks like a dive, but you can't get better lobster and clam chowder for less anywhere in the Boston area. We make 2-3 trips of over 450 one way, each year just to eat here.

It was very crowded because it is a favorite of the locals. But the meatballs were silky, filled with just the right mixture of pork and filling but light.

Went after an event in Gloucester. Was lucky to time it so our wait was not overly long. Absolutely no atmosphere, waiter had no personality, but when the meal came those downfalls were outweighed by the huge piece of fish placed in front of me! The four of us in our party each enjoyed the meal as well as the... More

I know, I know. EVERYBODY raves about the fish chowder, but after having both a bowl of each we would say forget about the fish chowder, and dive head first into the rich, creamy bowl of clam chowder! Though a bowl of clam chowder with a small side salad was all I could handle, my husband ordered the appetizer portion... More

If you are re looking for large portions of excellent food, you are in the right place. Full of locals, the service is very good and it feels welcoming but it you want pretty or are interested in a nice atmosphere, go elsewhere. As for me, sometimes I don't care and only am looking for great food....so, I was not... More
