Unpretentious atmosphere but superb cooking. The lamb I ordered was incredibly tender and cooked just right. The deserts were excellent--good for sharing. A wonderful place to spend a foggy night on Cape Ann.

A must dine out experience. The restaurant is quiet and quaint. All dishes are prepared carefully and the food is amazing. It's obvious the owner/chef takes pride in this place.

We made reservations 2 weeks prior and were looking forward to our Saturday dinner. I was excited to get the risotto and hubby got the seafood stew. Risotto was piping hot but lacked seasoning (a little garlic would have made it perfect) and seafood stew was just average and for the price we paid to get the full size. We... More

We ate here in mid June 2014 - my husband, children (ages 10, 12) and my parents. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal! My daughter, who is not much of a meat eater, ordered the steak and promptly declared it to be "the best steak I have ever had!" I had the monkfish at the recommendation of the waitress and it... We waited for quite some time to get our table since this is a very busy, popular place to dine. By the time we were finally seated, we were among only a few tables being served. It is a small, cozy restaurant near the harbor. We enjoyed our creamy mushroom soup and hot bread but were disappointed to then have... More

My wife and I ate here on our last night in Gloucester. We had tried two other times to make reservations but they were booked. So, if you are looking for a wonderful place to eat with a very cozy atmosphere, this is the place. Just call a couple of days in advance for reservations. The thing that we enjoyed... More

There's lots to like about Duckworth's. In a town/area where fresh seafood rules, finding a place with a balanced menu, and all prepared very well, is rare. Even rarer is the French training in the kitchen, which reveals itself in the sauces in particular. The food across the board is excellent. We went with multiple half portions (the only way... More

The secret is out on this place and you will need to plan ahead and reserve. The homey, casual bistro with limited seating has become very popular and with good cause. The option for generous half portions makes it very affordable. The menu has shellfish, finfish, birds that include quail and two versions of duck, meats and three excellent vegetarian... More

The grilled quail was absolutely divine! And the profiteroles added a perfect finishing touch to my dining experience. Great service, fair pricing, and highly recommended.

Duckworth's delivers a very enjoyable dining experience. The food is very good, and the wine list includes some very fine options. The prices are reasonable. What stands out, is the enthusiastic, friendly, cheerful service; the servers appear to be having a good time. Gloucester is lucky to have a dining alternative of this quality.
