Nice place, nice staff, good food.

Have only been here 2x. Both times very good experience. On weekends go early, fills quickly. Had salads, beef tips, blackened chicken, veggie burger, wings so a good sampling between 4 people. Only issue would by fries, you could have pressed them and the amt of oil would have rivaled the BP... read more

I'll start by saying I wish I read the reviews prior to going this time. We've eaten here a few times. Always good, never outstanding but good just the same. The menu has something for everyone and it's a nice place. The waitstaff has always been attentive. Never had any big complaints until last night. We both ordered burgers cooked... More

I want so badly to like this 'locals tavern' but it's just not possible. Service is so incredibly slow. It took 45 minutes to get appetizers of nachos and chicken tenders. When the nachos finally arrived, the cheese was cold. Gross. I hoped that dinner would be better but no such luck. My husband's burger looked impressive, if perhaps larger... More

The atmosphere is great unless you go on a night with entertainment when it can get very loud. Very attentive and helpful servers - could not ask for better. Nachos for appetizer - chips were burnt on top and not all cheese was melted - not the best we have had and would not order again. Husband thought chowder was... More

We had a wonderful dinner at 525 this past weekend. Our party of three ordered the ginger-soy marinated salmon, the flatiron steak and the kid's meal - hamburger. The atmosphere is conducive to a good time with conversation and good food. Definitely a neighborhood gem.

very loud music performed by a below average, wedding singer type band on the evening i went. Food was very average. It is okay, but will not live on in your memory.

This place has it all. The food was great and I really like the way the place is laid out. The best thing of all was the musician they had playing! Saw Bill Champitto there last month and he was amazing! I just found out he'll be there again Friday July 24th so definitely going back. Love the 525 Tavern.

We have been going to 525 since it opened. Some days were good and some days were a bit off, but we kept giving it a chance. Recently they changed management and the food improved greatly; however, the last 2 times my fiance and I went we weren't happy with our food. I ordered a veggie burger and my fiance... More

This restaurant in the lovely area of Gloucester called Magnolia is worth checking out. The food is very good and often interesting, the wait staff is efficient and friendly. On Sunday, for brunch, they have really, really good jazz musicians. The musicians rotate so you can go for many Sundays and hear different, all talented, musicians. Good music on Wednesday... More

Go just a tad out of your way to enjoy the seaside village of Magnolia (part of Gloucester, MA.) Drive around Shore Road, take a short walk out to Rafe's Chasm and then eat at 525 on Lexington Avenue. I had the mussel appetizer and Strawberry Cove salad as my dinner. Both were fantastic. My husband had the baked haddock.... More
