Our food was excellent. The baked Hancock melted in my mouth. Very good. The braised beef was so tender.

We were looking for something different than the Gorton’s Fisherman, not that I have anything against him, while in Gloucester for a bike race. The décor is modern and clean-very tastefully done. The menu is quite extensive. The server (I can’t remember her name, but she is a communications major at Emerson) made fantastic recommendations. She was simply amazing in... More

Azorean is a great restaurant in so many ways. It borders on perfect sometimes, so it would be great if they could just fine tune a few things. Food is generally wonderful, atmosphere is fun and festive, service is a bit spotty. This review is primarily about the bar area where you can also eat dinner. When you sit right... More

We were seated at a tight so-so table but the staff quickly changed our location and everything was top notch afterwards. We started off with the Calamari Salad (grilled squid) ($9.95) which was extremely tasty and just perfect. We decided on the Tower of Tapas ($30) for our dinner. We thought tapas were little sample dishes. These were not. They... More

I liked everything about this restaurant. It was crowded on a Saturday night but they made a special effort to get us in. They have many Portuguese specialty dishes with sausages and seafood. The drinks were not short of alcohol and there was a daily menu of specials. The service was exceptional as the wait staff were very attentive and... More

I've been to the Azorean twice now and had beef and fish dishes. They do beef well, but in a fishing town, they really should be excellent. I had the grilled fish platter which was unremarkable. The best I could say is that it was not overdone.

Visited Gloucester late in the season. Some restaurants were already closed. The pizza at La Rosas was fine but it's just a pizza joint. Of the rest the Azorean stood out as the best available. Pleasant atmosphere with good Portuguese cousine. Would certainly return here on my next visit. Overall the dining experience in Gloucester leaves a lot to be... More

I've been here on three separate occasions with different friends who wanted to try it. This will be my last visit. The menu is vast but they can't seem to do anything well. Worst seafood casserole I've ever had - particularly bad given that this place is in Gloucester! Grilled fish was bland and overdone, chicken was also dried out... More

This was our first time at Azorean. We had heard it advertised on the radio many times and finally went for lunch. We got the tapas tower, so that we could try many different items, including octopus, which was pretty good. We also got an order of fish and chips, which was delicious. The fish was flaky and the batter... More
