I liked everything about this restaurant. It was crowded on a Saturday night but they made a special effort to get us in. They have many Portuguese specialty dishes with sausages and seafood. The drinks were not short of alcohol and there was a daily menu of specials. The service was exceptional as the wait staff were very attentive and... More

I've been to the Azorean twice now and had beef and fish dishes. They do beef well, but in a fishing town, they really should be excellent. I had the grilled fish platter which was unremarkable. The best I could say is that it was not overdone.

Visited Gloucester late in the season. Some restaurants were already closed. The pizza at La Rosas was fine but it's just a pizza joint. Of the rest the Azorean stood out as the best available. Pleasant atmosphere with good Portuguese cousine. Would certainly return here on my next visit. Overall the dining experience in Gloucester leaves a lot to be... More

I've been here on three separate occasions with different friends who wanted to try it. This will be my last visit. The menu is vast but they can't seem to do anything well. Worst seafood casserole I've ever had - particularly bad given that this place is in Gloucester! Grilled fish was bland and overdone, chicken was also dried out... More

This was our first time at Azorean. We had heard it advertised on the radio many times and finally went for lunch. We got the tapas tower, so that we could try many different items, including octopus, which was pretty good. We also got an order of fish and chips, which was delicious. The fish was flaky and the batter... More

Came to love this place last year while vacationing on Cape Ann. Great tapas always but ventured away from them and and had the Spanish Cataplanas last night. EXCELLENT! I love traditional Portuguese saffroned fisherman's stew but this was better. Delicate broth and TONS of food! Not a bowl full of shells! Pairs well with their exceptional red sangria! Will... More

We stopped here after a long day at the beach. It was a little busy and loud, but the food was out of this world. My husband ordered Azorean steak tips and hasn't stopped talking about it since. Everyone in our party devoured the bread and dipping oil that was placed at the tables while waiting for our meals. My... More

My husband and I dined here on a recent trip to Gloucester. I had the surf & turf (2 stuffed shrimp, braised beef, potatoes and asparagus). I thought it was very good. You can substitute other meats if braised beef isn't your thing. My husband had the seafood stew which he really enjoyed. Portions are big. Service was good even... More

Great selection of Portuguese favorites all cooked to order and served hot. All entrees were delicious and prepared exactly as ordered. Great value and attentive staff.

3 of us ordered steaks and let me say they really sucked. It was tuff full of fat and the molho (marinade) was just tomatoe based loaded with hot pepper. The rice was dry. Ok enough with the steak plate. My wife ordered a cod plate and this was just bones with little meat to enjoy. Let me tell ya... More
