Description: The Gloucester House restaurant is renowned for its local lobster dishes...
The Gloucester House restaurant is renowned for its local lobster dishes and for the freshest North Atlantic seafood, prepared to perfection. Having been among the first to popularize fried calamari, our specialties range from award-winning clam chowder to homemade bread and cornbread, from Dottie's bourbon cake to Lily's wine list, and from Sambuca mussels to blackened haddock tacos to a fried fisherman's reuben sandwich. We always cook to order and have gluten free and vegetarian menus available, as well as children's meals. Dine full-service on our outdoor, dockside deck or eat lobsters in-the-rough on our harbor side wharf. Located on historic Seven Seas Wharf, there's something for everyone here: shop for souvenirs and local art at our General Store gift shop, enjoy a sail on the Schooner Thomas E. Lannon, or see the whales aboard Seven Seas Whale Watch. Whatever your fancy may be, the Linquata family invites you to join us year-round for a true taste of New England.

The best lobster pie!!

We had dinner here last night and booked prior to arriving, we did ask for a window table as we have flown half way around the world to eat lobsters and do a road trip around Maine and New England but in spite of this we got a table booth that was at the end with half a wall and... read more

We stopped in at lunch time for a lobster roll but when the waitress announced the price of $28.00 for what she described as about a CUP of lobster on a roll and $32.00 for a clam belly roll which was WELL above anyone else's prices in the entire area, we ordered a pizza instead and went on our way.... had dinner here and was not happy. The food was just OK and nothing special. The place was not crowded at all and I did not feel that the waitstaff was attentive.

Food was fair. Took a long time to be waited on. Ordered broiled lobster tails and after waiting a half hour for our food the server came and told me they were out of lobster tails. We had to keep asking for extra napkins, butter, rolls. Service was slow and we waited almost 45 minutes for our food. Prices were... More

Beautiful view but the food was a little over priced. Food was good but was much less expensive at other restaurants. Service was good as well.

The Gloucester House Restaurant is located on the waterfront in a fairly seedy area of Gloucester. [Not that the majority of Gloucester isn't seedy - it is]. The prices of the food are extraordinarily high. The portions are on the small side. The drinks are very good. [Beware you will need them & though there is a selection of HIGH... More

We had lunch here before taking the Whale Watching tour. Our food arrived quickly. The only reason I'm giving a Very Good rating is that I didn't care for the Lobster Roll; sorry if that is more of a personal opinion.

I was showing a Roman friend the North Shore, and included a stop in Glosta. We had strolled Main St, checked out the Caffe Sicilia and the new oiive oil boutique - my friend works in a three Michelin star establishment in Rome, so he is extremely discriminating. We chose Gloucester House because he wanted lobster, and it looked appealing... More

Dined here one evening on their outside patio which has a view of the harbor and docks but is protected from the elements. Dinner was delicious (chicken stir-fry, shrimp stir-fry and fried clams). The air is sometimes fishy smelling since the fishermen are unloading their catch next door but very interesting to watch while dining. Located right on the water.

We had eaten here over the years and found the food pretty bad. We were told there was a new chef and a new menu and it was great so decided to give it another try. It's still pretty bad as far as I'm concerned. The menu doesn't offer a lot. I couldn't find an appetizer or salad that interested... More
