Description: The Gloucester House restaurant is renowned for its local lobster dishes...
The Gloucester House restaurant is renowned for its local lobster dishes and for the freshest North Atlantic seafood, prepared to perfection. Having been among the first to popularize fried calamari, our specialties range from award-winning clam chowder to homemade bread and cornbread, from Dottie's bourbon cake to Lily's wine list, and from Sambuca mussels to blackened haddock tacos to a fried fisherman's reuben sandwich. We always cook to order and have gluten free and vegetarian menus available, as well as children's meals. Dine full-service on our outdoor, dockside deck or eat lobsters in-the-rough on our harbor side wharf. Located on historic Seven Seas Wharf, there's something for everyone here: shop for souvenirs and local art at our General Store gift shop, enjoy a sail on the Schooner Thomas E. Lannon, or see the whales aboard Seven Seas Whale Watch. Whatever your fancy may be, the Linquata family invites you to join us year-round for a true taste of New England.

This was our first visit to the G.H. restaurant, but not our last. Was there on Sunday late afternoon. Service was fantastic. Our waiter, Clinton, explained the specials, told us about the history of the restaurant. The blacken sword fish was fantastic and the Baked Haddock was just as good. Both dishes were just as good today for leftovers.

stay away from the "blackened" haddock salad....dry and overcooked, but their house special...acorn squash filled with seafood casserole is delicious...great value too for desert is included in most of the lunch dishes....the apple crisp rocks...simply "off the chain!" don't go there for whole belly fried clams, though,...they serve clam strips only....what?

What more can you say about a two pound lobster baked and stuffed with lobster stuffing? The sides which come with it are nothing to write home about but who cares when they set that fresh sweet lobster in front of you? The atmosphere is great and service is very good. But never, never order the new England clam chowder... More

If you love seafood, this is the place for you. The food is fantastic, the portions are huge and the staff is wonderful. A wonderful way to end a day of whale watching in Gloucester.

I can never get enough of this place. I live 5 hours away and make a trip at least three times every year just to come to the Gloucester House. The night views are welcoming, the food is always very good and the room is always just cool enough in the summer and cozy in the winter. I always seem... More

We were here during the off season. Alison was our waitress and she was just so sweet. I had the fish and chips Friday special and the food was great and the price was lower than expected but I do believe this was an off season special. If we return, I would make a point of going again. I saw... More

Food was made in advance with not great staying power for taste. Difficult arrangements for buffet with advance payment. Bartender even confused about types of beer available.

Heading out of Boston and going north, we knew there would be plenty of places to grab some lobster. We didn't expect for the first lobster roll we had to be the best, though. We stepped into the restaurant by chance more than anything else - we hadn't researched it. At first we thought it would be a mistake -... More

We were on our way to Maine for the weekend, one of my friends said that we should take a side trip and stop at the Gloucester House for lunch. So glad that we did. We were there as soon as the opened, our server Cynthia was awessome! She has been working there for 26 years and you can tell... More
