Description: The Gloucester House restaurant is renowned for its local lobster dishes...
The Gloucester House restaurant is renowned for its local lobster dishes and for the freshest North Atlantic seafood, prepared to perfection. Having been among the first to popularize fried calamari, our specialties range from award-winning clam chowder to homemade bread and cornbread, from Dottie's bourbon cake to Lily's wine list, and from Sambuca mussels to blackened haddock tacos to a fried fisherman's reuben sandwich. We always cook to order and have gluten free and vegetarian menus available, as well as children's meals. Dine full-service on our outdoor, dockside deck or eat lobsters in-the-rough on our harbor side wharf. Located on historic Seven Seas Wharf, there's something for everyone here: shop for souvenirs and local art at our General Store gift shop, enjoy a sail on the Schooner Thomas E. Lannon, or see the whales aboard Seven Seas Whale Watch. Whatever your fancy may be, the Linquata family invites you to join us year-round for a true taste of New England.

Highly over priced ($70.00 for LUNCH after the tip). Food not impressive, not very tasty. The waitress did not know the menu, she had to keep asking others about the food. I had the lobster mac and cheese, and it had no flavor at all. Had to ask three times before she brought us our bread, which was stale pieces... More

Here you go! Sure, the four of us only wanted a lunch before our whale watch. But once they knew that, all fronts were attended. Attention by our fellow server (I do wish that I recalled his name, as the establishment should commend him - dark rimmed glasses and pleasant demeanor) . Menu selections recommended that would serve our timely... More

The Gloucester House has it all for just a down to earth reasonable, but great seafood dinner. Start out with the stuff mushrooms, they're fabulous. The Lobster dinner itself was only about 17 bucks & better than places that charge double that. But this is a working town, look out the window during dinner & you'll see the fishing boats... More

Hubby and I were lucky enough to get a table on the deck, they fill up fast at lunchtime. It's lovely to be able to sit outside and watch the boats come and go. Their fried whole belly clams came highly recommended, but weren't on the menu. Our server checked with the kitchen and said they were available, she also... More

The Rockport High School Class of 1964 held our 50th class reunion at the Gloucester House. It was great!! Wonderful food and atmosphere. Dottie helped us all they way through with her expertise in planning. The waitresses and David the bartender were attentive and fun. Thank you all. P.S. The restaurant is wonderful too. It's always a pleasure with Lily... More

We tried out this family run Gloucester institution (since 1957) on Mother's Day and as expected the place was packed to the brim, we didn't have reservations and we arrived just before 1pm so a 20 minute wait for a table wasn't too bad. We were seated at the sports bar area which gives you a view of the boats... More

Best food in Gloucester! My lobster pie was absolutely divine. My Mother loved her lobster roll. Bread was great, service as well. The views are nice. The owner is so very nice. Makes you feel so special. We will be back!
