Description: The Gloucester House restaurant is renowned for its local lobster dishes...
The Gloucester House restaurant is renowned for its local lobster dishes and for the freshest North Atlantic seafood, prepared to perfection. Having been among the first to popularize fried calamari, our specialties range from award-winning clam chowder to homemade bread and cornbread, from Dottie's bourbon cake to Lily's wine list, and from Sambuca mussels to blackened haddock tacos to a fried fisherman's reuben sandwich. We always cook to order and have gluten free and vegetarian menus available, as well as children's meals. Dine full-service on our outdoor, dockside deck or eat lobsters in-the-rough on our harbor side wharf. Located on historic Seven Seas Wharf, there's something for everyone here: shop for souvenirs and local art at our General Store gift shop, enjoy a sail on the Schooner Thomas E. Lannon, or see the whales aboard Seven Seas Whale Watch. Whatever your fancy may be, the Linquata family invites you to join us year-round for a true taste of New England.

Enjoyed the outdoor seating

We called over about 5ish on a Saturday in July to see if there was a long wait but where happy to hear ' come right on over and we can seat you now", so we did just that. The Gloucester block party was taking place this evening so parking was a bit difficult but the dirt lot was where... read more

We went for supper yesterday. Overpriced small clam chowder, Cajun sizzling shrimp was 3/4 burned!! Bread was steal not even warm. Did they pick it up at 7eleven? Coffee was worse than free coffee at a office. Fish and chips are not anything to talk about but pricy! It is all about the location. Horrible C class restaurant.

Delicious lunch special... Lobster Casserole. 5 scrumptious ounces of fresh lobster meat, tossed with crispy breadcrumbs and baked to buttery goodness. We savored the flavor of each bite, and even enjoyed the complimentary cornbread as we sat outside and enjoyed the incredible view of the harbor. All this for $16.00! WootWoot!!!!

We were a little disappointed in our chowder. It could have been an off day but it had a little different flavor, almost a little sour. Not sure if it had something in it we are not used to having but I actually did not feel that good having an upset stomach a few hours after eating there and had... More

During our 9-day stay in the area, my mom and I ate here twice and both times had a good experience. It feels like a well-established family favourite. During our first visit, I had the seared tuna (I like sashimi, so was not squeamish about the barely cooked nature of this dish). Mom had the sizzling shrimp on a bed... More

Lovely eatery right on the inner harbour, with good sea food, efficient service, and a nice mix of clientele. They have an extensive sea food selection, nicely priced, with the restaurant sectioned-off so that us poor souls with kids can be effectively segregated from the more 'serious' diners :) All in all a good experience, and they managed to fit... We decided to eat dinner here and discovered that the food was prepared in a very simple way. We ordered haddock and flounder. The flounder had an egg wash on it and then pan seared and served with a lemon and caper butter. The fish was not fresh and did not flake. The haddock was placed on top of a... More

Ate lunch there and the service was quick and efficient. Ate on back porch area however the fish odor was quite strong...the restaurant is adjacent to where the fishing boats bring in their catch.
