Summer Dinner

The Glass Onion is expensive but well worth it. It is minimally but tastefully decorated and the service is wonderful. The lobster in phylo appetizer is spectacular. Often there is a wait during summer months but there is a comfortable screened porch .

One way to beat the crowds that flock to this restaurant each summer...visit midweek in February to celebrate your special occasion. For my wife and I this meant a short drive to celebrate our anniversary (#41 but who's counting?) Let me start out by stating this was one of the best dining experiences that I can remember. From the warm... More

The Glass Onion is quite simply ethereal......HOWEVER, it distresses me as an avid followerer of trip advisor that you have rated a bakery (which is unbelievable) and a fish market as restaurants. The amount of work that is involved in running a restaurant of the Glass Onions caliber is extensive. The Glass Onion is definitely the best restaurant in Falmouth... More

First and foremost the food is worth the trip. We had two different fish entrees that were perfectly cooked, perfectly presented and very tasty. The service however was quite puzzling and alternated from hovering to being completely ignored. The wait staff's presence and availability seemed inversely proportional to our actual needs. Some of the puzzling aspects - my companion's water... More

The meal at this restaurant reminded me very much of restaurant eating in France. I ate much slower than my usual rapid (and undesirable) pace because I wanted to savor the taste of each bite. I didn't check the menu carefully for the full identity of the side items so I wasn't completely sure exactly what some of them were,... More

We have been here twice.... the first time was with friends and it was a bit difficult because even with 8 pm reservations we waited until 8.45. Unfortunately there was no comfortable place to wait. They need a nice bar. The food was good the server was excellent and the cost was good but it was not a good place... More

The staff are superb, the food is simply delicious. They use very fresh ingredients, even the salad greens are grown less than 10 miles away, year round. We've dined here a few times, and each time is an absolute treat. The décor is pleasing, and the wine selections are quite nice.

I don't know how a Fish store topped this restaurant for the 2nd best restaurant and how a bakery beat this, too - this is the best restaurant in town. Yes, the others are good but they do not qualify, in my book, as a restaurant where you get service, and choices and meals. The Glass Onion has excellent service,... More

We stayed at the Inn on the Square, just across the street from the Glass Onion. The person at the hotel desk mentioned that many of their guests who dined at the Glass Onion liked it. We made sure to get there soon after 5:30pm, to ensure that we get a place. Good decision... since soon after the place got filled... More

A welcoming place on a cold night: warm smiles, great service, good wine, and fine food. Strongly recommended.
