Quite good, some flaws

I came here with a group of people, some of them Italians, and we all generally thought it was quite good, although it gets so crowded that service is slow. We had a good night though. A couple of days later, on a Monday when the staff admitted there was no executive chef on hand, things completely... read more

Hard to understand what people see in this pretentious place with terrible food. One of the worst meals we have ever had. Where to start? Oysters (one would hope delicious and fresh from the sea on Cape Cod) come to the table drowning in vinegar and ice chips and so much green spice it was hard to find the oysters.... More

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful meal here last week. We went in the middle of the week and were seated right away. Service was outstanding and the food was incredible. I had the filet mignon and my husband had the pork tenderloin. They both looked so delicious that we each tried each others entrees. They were as good... More

At 8 O’clock on a Thursda night we were told the wait would be 1-1/2 hours to get in however it turned out to be only 1 hour. We had just arrived in Falmouth and were looking forward to our dinner after an amazing meal here last summer so we were willing to wait. We decided to share an appetizer:... More

My husband ordered the lamb special. I had salmon from the menu. Bread served is EXCELLENT. Refreshing drinks. Romantic, dim lighting. Does not seem typical of the Cape. Only negative is lobster gazpacho. Flavor was good but not more than a bite of lobster. Very expensive night but good for a change of pace. I wore nice shorts and a... More

Went midweek and had a fantastic dinner. Short wait for the table so we enjoyed a cocktail on the porch. Cucumber g&t was just the drink to have in the summer. Hendricks gin with fresh cucumber juice and sweet lime was refreshing. My wife had the velvet devil which reminded me of an old fashioned. Both great drinks. Service was... More

We were in Falmouth for the first time and only for a few days. At the suggestion of our B&B host, we lucked out getting a table without a reservation by arriving at 5:00 PM on a week night. The decor is simple and airy with sage green and white predominating and brown accents. The maitre d had the right... More

The Glass Onion provides sophisticated dining in pleasant surroundings. The service is attentive but not intrusive and the food was of a high standard. I would have given it 5 had we not had to beg to be put on their reservation list - apparently arriving an hour and a half before hand was far too soon; their preference being... More
