After a day at the beach in Gloucester, we thought we'd try this for an outdoor dining experience. My wife usually doesn't like fried food, but we thoroughly enjoyed the weather, the food and the entrée experience.

We have driven past J.T. Farnham's for many years and decided to stop this past Sunday. Parking is a problem on a busy summer Sunday. Parking is limited. There are roadside Spaces on the opposite side of the busy road and a marked crosswalk and signs warning Of a crosswalk. The order process is efficient and meals and drinks delivered... More

Dog friendly outside seating with a beautiful view of the wetlands and wildlife. Fried clams were made of fresh clams that were washed thoroughly, cooked perfectly, and the batter did not overpower the contents. The crab roll was delicious but the fish chowder left something to be desired.

Fried clams were on our must have list and we had read this was the place to go. I admit it was crowded but I won't vouch for the overpriced offerings! Way too much beading masked the whole clam flavor and as for the fried calamari.... It was like eating cardboard. We learned later that this is not a place... More

Farnhams was our go to place for fried seafood in the rough years ago when we lived on the north shore. Figured we go down memory lane and go back, Surprised to say the least, first off, signs over the counter stated, $5.00 increase to the seafood platter because of availability of the clams. $5.00 increase for a few clams,... Old school service, sweet, fresh, and succulent fried clams. Old school service. They were featured on diners, drive-ins and dives a few years back.

I asked a some people where I could get some really good chowder, and this place was suggested. I gave it a shot. I had the best New England Clam Chowder I have ever had, and this area is seafood heaven. I had a small box of fried clams, (not too small) also very good, but the chowder was not... More

My husband and I stopped at Farnham's to answer a craving for fried clams. The clams were expensive because of problems with the flats but there were worth every penny. They were fresh, nicely battered, and cooked perfectly. We added freshly made onion rings and were thrilled with the meal. We had our dogs with us so we also needed... More
