We were told to try this place because the clams were better than the clambox! What a joke! We ordered the Clam Boat($22.95) when we got our order I took it to the table and said to my wife, can this be our order there were only 9 clams in the boat along with onion rings. I went back to... More

Great seafood - Fast. Orders are placed over the counter, you take a number and find a picnic table. I had chowder and a seafood platter that was so much food I almost couldn't finish it. This was my first stop here, but won't be my last -

This place is amazing probably the best fried clams and Fried haddock. I've ever had! My only complaint is their french fries they're the kind that with greasy batter on it You don't come here for the fries though and the seafood outweighs the fries. Seriously

We went hear for Fried Clams about a month ago and had probably some of the best fried clams ever ! However, having a craving for fried clams again this past week, we went back. Only this time the fried clams were over cooked. They were dark brown and crispy to the point of chewy. I can only rate them... More

This is not the Ritz for tea, its all about the food, fried seafood, and there is none better, about a tie with with JT Farnham's and the Lobster Pool. Casual and comfortable, no view, unfortunately. Much faster service during busy times than The Causeway in Gloucester, the fatal flaw.

Classic clam shack style restaurant. Order at the window, Pay Cash, about ten tables in the restaurant, Paper plates. What you get is really good seafood, mostly fried, very fresh, prepared well and priced fairly. If you are looking for ambiance or views, you won’t get it here. Parking can be an issue, but it is mostly frequented by locals.... More

I am a fired clam afficionado and have been suffering from winter fried clam withdrawal and decided to make a pilgrimage to the Mecca of fired clams, Essex, Massachusetts. It was a nice Saturday amid a horrid winter and we went for a late lunch, about 2:00 and the place was not very busy. I ordered a fried clam plate... More

A no frills operation where the locals go for local clams. We were served right away unlike the other tourist focused Essex and Ipswich clam shops which have long lines almost all the time. My wife and I split a clam plate. Plenty for both of us A big heap of fries, onion rings and fresh fried clams. Perfectly fried... More

On July 4th week we decided to ride up to the north shore for some seafood, and after seeing the lines at Woodman's we decided to search elsewhere. It was about 98 degrees that day, and there were three of us who weren't too keen to be roasting outside somewhere for some fried oysters. We spotted this place and it... More
