The is a great place to eat with friends, family or just as a couple. Everything is fresh, cooked to order with great skill. The seafood offerings range from the familiar to the tantalizing. This is an institution is Essex, but that does not mean old or tired. The food is terrific and you are guaranteed a great time here.

Hard to believe we have never tried the Village Restaurant until now, but with so many good seafood establishments in Cape Ann I hope we will be forgiven! Some of the best fried clams and haddock ever, and my husband had a delicious Delmonico steak. We will surely be back!

There are many places to get good seafood along route 133 in Essex, but the Village restaurant really stands out. They have an extensive menu of New England seafood favorites all cooked to perfection, any way you like: baked, broiled, or fried. They dig their own steamers and you haven't enjoyed good steamers until you've had a platter-full of their... More

I don't know how this place does it the restaurant is very large, and the food is consistently good. The fried clams are the best I've ever had. They taste like they came right out of the ocean. I've never eaten anything here that wasn't delicious. Order the coconut cream pie for dessert even if you're full. It's fabulous. The... More

i agree with the review by 'lotus' below. this place was great a few years ago but it is no longer. not only were the clams huge and disgusting but the scallops were overly salty, the onion rings were heavy and the waitress talked about herself *way* too much to the point that it was disturbing. it was full of... Our yearly sojourn to Cape Ann was celebrated by a return visit to the Village. Seating was prompt, never had the noise level so distracting in the glass covered room yet was friendly noise. Server Luke; professional, diligent, cordial, helpful, persistent, perhaps he needs to run for President someday. The dinner; initial clam chowder outstanding, the best of the many... More

Great seafood restaurant on Cape Ann, known for its clam dinners. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the chowder and the Beachcomber seafood entree, which included shrimp. My fried clam strip dinner was excellent as well. The waitress provided excellent service. The restaurant is bigger than it looks and offers some outside seating. Generous portions. Lots of choices on the dessert menu,... More

We were there today and as always it was fantastic. The fried clams are the best in the area and the onion rings are out of this world. The service is fast and friendly. Once you go there you will not go anywhere else.

My folks use to take the family here when we were kids on our family vacations to the old family stomping grounds (it's right next to the church my great great grandfather pastored in the 1850s). Once we even ran through apouring rain just to get a cup of their clam chowder as carry out, as my dad wanted one... More
