Love this place. My wife and I always stop in here at least once (usually more!) when we are on the Vineyard. The food and coffee are both very good, the staff is fun and friendly, and the classic rock tunes bring the whole experience...together. Skip the tourist traps and check out Dock Street to get your day on the Vineyard started right.More

Last Saturday was an absolutely gorgeous day but because it was after Columbus Day, most places in Edgartown were closed for the season. Along with some friends we found the Dockside and were delighted with the friendliness and service, and food! Clearly a haunt for...locals, nevertheless we were offered coffee while we waited for stools together. We were made to feel quite at home. The omelette was as good as any I ever had. We will be back!More

Dock St is the perfect place for a nice breakfast sandwich and fantastic tasting coffee! Plenty of places to easily walk to and sit down merely 100 feet away after getting your food and enjoying your morning while looking at the harbor. Girl who prepared...our order was one of the nicest people we spoke to during our entire stay on the Vineyard.More

We both had the #10 which was a half serving of eggs, meat, hash browns and toast. All were cooked fresh and served by the friendly women who own this tiny restaurant. The customers were convivial, Making room to accommodate others at the counter. A...throwback to a simpler, kinder timeMore

We ate here our first morning on the island and couldn't have picked a better place. The atmosphere was very cozy and just like what you would imagine an old fashioned diner to be like. The food tasted just like homemade and the prices were...good. Only downfall is it is very small and there's not much seating if it's crowded. Staff was very nice and attentive.More

The owners are super friendly. Always a good chat. Corned Beef Hash is excellent. Son had french toast. Not the least expensive breakfast we've ever had, but we will always return.

it's true this is a local spot. but i've been going here for breakfast every year since i was 2, so 28 years... and the staff is very friendly to EVERYONE. the service and food were a little better when Doc was running the place...but it's still the most BOMB breakfast place there is. the women there are working their butts off to get orders out so no there won't be people standing around hanging out. you come in, take a seat at the counter and order. its laid back compared to other spots around here which is refreshing to say the least. come in hungry! everything on the menu is good.More

What is going on with the ridiculously small amount of linguica in the Portuguese McMuffin? Really disappointing since this is a summer staple for us and our guests.

Good food, good service right in the heart of Edgartown and the dock district. You have to look close as it's a bit hidden but we'll worth it. Bring cash (no credit cards) but don't let that deter you. Well worth it

I absolutely love this place. A real slice of Vineyard life. Salt of the earth. Loved by locals and regular visitors alike. Hard to beat an early morning breakfast at the Dock Street. Roll on summer '19!

Don't go here - it's small, reasonably priced, good, has character and the ladies who rock the counter are stars. I want a seat so don't clutter up the joint but if you do like the hamish haunts (that's Yiddish for humble/salt of the earth),...this is your joint. Don't bring no Vineyard Vines/Menemsha Blues golf shirts in here, kimosabe. This is for locals only - and the local minded.More

A friend and I were going for brunch, and our place was closed. We passed by dock street and there were two seats free- the rest of the counter seating was full. We decided to try it- yum. She had an egg sandwich. Good but...fairly standard and I splurged( calorie-wise) with hash, eggs home fries and a muffin. YUM, the hash was delish sunny side eggs on top cooked just right and good home fries. All for about ten dollars and all the coffee i could drink came with it. Terrific deal for Edgartown. Lots of choices, check the handwritten signs over the counter Servers were attentive and friendly and kept my coffe cup full. This is a real find. No table service/ only counter space and a booming take out business.More

I’m a regular at the DSCS. A wonderful no frills place. But doubt they offer gluten free options and the like, if that’s what you mean by allergy friendly. I’d call ahead to inquire.
