We have been coming to the Vineyard for well over 30 years. Even bought a season home. The Square Rigger has always been our first meal on the island. Reason - consistently good food. If you like lobster come here - boiled, baked stuffed, saute you can't go wrong. Like Prime Rib? It is carved on the spot with Yorkshire... More

I used to spend summers on Martha's Vineyard, and the Square Rigger was one of our go-tos for a nice meal. It seems to have gone downhill this year. On our recent visit, my brother's favorite dish (Lobster Newburg) was still listed on the menu, but no longer was served on puff pastry, and instead was served on toast. It... More

Each time we rode our bikes by the take-out window of this place there were always people lined up outside ordering food. So on our next to last night on the island we opted to get soem take out from this restaurant. We ordered cheeseburgers fries and chicken strips. Our friends ordered wraps. Cheeseburger was a good sized burger and... More

We always come to this restaurant when we visit the vineyard annually. The food is great (and plentiful!) and the service is excellent as well. Great place to go.

A friend suggested the restaurant for us to try so we decided to give it a go. My wife and I ordered the Grilled Lobster Extra Meat and my daughters ordered the Bake Stuffed Lobster. The lobsters were a little overcooked but still quite good. The extra meat option is not really extra meat as if appears they only take... More

I was with a party of six. The person to my right had the swordfish which she said was great and so was the portion. To my left, the lady had a codfish special. She also said it was good. The last time I ate here I had the double lamb chops which were fantastic so I ordered them again.... More

For a restaurant on an island that has the freshest fish available, my meal was average at best. The prices were on the high side and the portions were lacking. My cod had a bit of a fishy flavor to it... not like fresh cod should have. The scallops were a bit chewy. All in all - I could have... More

I went here recently with family. The food was just okay nothing to rave about. The menu is exactly the same as it has been for the last ten years. Basic seafood and steak meals but nothing eye catching and different. The inside needs a serious update.

The food, service, and ambiance were excellent! Casual setting, and the Bouillabaisse is out of this world! We will return!

In expensive Martha's Vineyard, Squaer Rigger is a good value. Service was great but food seemed only average to me. My seafood combo was a mixture of good and not so good. I sampled others fare as well and nothing wowed me. All in all a nice place to eat but nothing overly memorable. It is very popular (for some... More
