This was our first visit to Seafood Shanty, and we will return. It's a large restaurant, on the water, and filled with locals. The service was very good and the food was delicious. We didn't have much -- lobster bisque, a lobster roll and a shrimp cocktail. But it's easy to screw up one or more of these dishes, and... More

I visit MV often and this was my first time at Seafood Shanty. It's a large restaurant and can certainly accommodate a lot of people. Food was good and service was also quite good. If you have a shellfish allergy be careful as they fry their fish in the same oil that they use for shellfish. Not a big deal... More

During a day trip to Martha's Vineyard, we stopped for lunch at the Seafood Shanty, one of the larger, more popular restaurants by the water. We were seated in the middle section even though there were places near the harbor view. Since we were there just for lunch, it was not a big deal but it would have been quite... More

This restaurant was recommended as a "must" while we were visiting Martha's Vinyard. We were not disappointed. We were there for lunch and the restaurant was packed, but no delay in getting a table on the verandah. Fantastic view. We had a bowl of clam chowder each and then shared calmari & fries. Service was great and we appreciated the... More

This was an end of season visit with the restaurant closing the following week, however that should not excuse the rather surly attitude of our waiter and the choice of only two draft beers from the normal 7 or so listed on the menu. That being said the lobster roll was tasty, and the view from the restaurant superb. I... More

Blustery end of season visit. Sat upstairs on the open deck, highly recommended if it is sunny out. It was a tad windy and cool (early Oct) when we were there. The food was good but unremarkable, the lobster roll was quite plain. Service was good. I know from previous visits this is one of the busier spots to eat... More

A friend and I stopped for fish and chips and we were not disappointed. $15.99 for a large piece of battered fish and fries with a side of homemade tartare sauce and coleslaw. It's was not oily or greasy, the fish was flaky and delicious. The margaritas were huge! $10.99 and were served in tall tumbler. Very tasty. Great view... More

From the moment we walked into this establishment, we realised we'd probably made a mistake. The biggest mistake was staying. Not a word passed the welcoming hostess's lips, neither was there any eye contact. We requested a table for two and another hostess showed us to our table. The menu seemed fine but what was written bore little resemblance to... More

We actually got what we expected. The setting is lovely, right on the water. Do get an outside table. The place is very touristy & was busy but the service was good & quick. I had the clam chowder which was okay. Not great but not bad. Good place to grab a drink & take in the view.

Most of the menu is fried fish, so if that is what you like, you will love it. They do have great views as they are right on the water. I am a veggie and had a hard time eating here. My husband had a lobster roll which was not fried and he really liked it. He and his friend... More
