Our second visit this year. While knowing it would be an above average bill, we always get a great meal with service to match. Only for the patient folk----the wait will be extra long without a reservation.

Alchemy is a favorite in season. A recent visit in December was a huge disappointment. Clearly, the summer chef was not in residence. As a resident, it is disappointing the quality can not be maintained year round.

Cozy winters in the back or summer evenings on the porch, Alchemy delivers good value and interesting food.

Face it, dining in Edgartown tends to the mediocre. Alchemy was always a bright-ish light, with reliable cooking and only slight overpricing. It seems that the place has squeezed in more tables -- noisy in primetime. The food took forever to arrive, and it arrived tepid rather than hot—and uninspired. The location is great, though, and local celebrities still dine... More

We had our Rehearsal Dinner at Alchemy and I believe everyone had a great time. The food was great and the service was very personable. The night would've been 5 stars if it wasn't for a slight miscommunication that lead to lots of confusion. We were anticipating being done with everything by a certain time due to another reservation immediately... More

We were put at a terribly cramped table, the noise level was so high that we couldn't hear each other from 3 feet away, and the waitress was so rude we had to speak with the owner to switch. Th waitress actually told us we would have go downstairs to complain directly in the kitchen when we got a bad... More

Spent a lovely evening here enjoying great swordfish prepared with a nice understated sauce and olive tepanade. It was cooked just right and it was clear this fish was fresh! They have a nice selection of wines and the prices are reasonable for Edgartown where everything is expensive. We came on a busy Saturday night and the noise level was... More

Excellent dining choice. The food is always good and they switch up the menu often. They also usually have specials based on local fresh ingredients. Great bars....Excellent service. In addition to the main dining areas there is a small upstairs back room where the entire menu is served but it is a more casual atmosphere. Sort of Edgartown's version of... More

I liked the upstairs bar area and being able to eat at the bar. The other guests at the bar were very engaging and enjoyed meeting new people that were locals. The food was excellent and the have a good wine menu as well as couple good ports for after dinner. Good location and easy to get to be foot... More
