I selected L'etoile for my special birthday dinner in Edgartown and was glad I did. We ate outside on the patio (enclosed by shrubs, lanterns hanging) and it was romantic as the hostess said when I made the reservation. Food and service were excellent. I especially liked my lobster etoufee. Restaurant is somewhat pricey, but I'd highly recommend it for... More

We have eaten here on several occasions . The lobster étouffée Is always perfectly cooked. It is moist , tender, pre-cracked, mildly spiced, and memorable. The service is excellent. We recommend eating in the garden which cooler and very romantic. All of the fish Is fresh and well prepared.

Beautiful tent in the garden that you eat in and delicious high class food. Not cheap, definitely somewhere to go for a special night out.

We went here for our anniversary dinner and had a very nice meal in Edgartown. Had a very good sommelier who was able to perfectly match a bottle for our meal. The food was good but nothing that would make this a go to place. Nice to try once and had to make our reservation a couple of weeks in... More

This is a wonderful restaurant which is the reason that we return every summer. My husband and I had dinner here on Friday night and everything was great. Our server was pleasant, efficient, and attentive. And, the food was excellent. My husband had the duck special and said it may have been the best duck that he has ever eaten.... More

Had heard this was the best on the island but that simply isn't the case. Very disappointed as food was mediocre at best and service was pretty terrible. One bathroom for the entire restaurant is a bit crazy as well. There are definitely better options on the island.

We are ardent fans of L'Espalier in Boston and knowing the chef used to work there we were very excited to try L'etoile while in Edgartown. The food was absolute perfection. The service was not. We were in a bit of a rush at the end as we needed to get back to pick up our four year old son,... More

It's not easy to offer a fine dining experience to a group of 30 travelers from Michigan but that's just what Chef Michael managed to offer the group at L'Etoille! He was extremely accommodating to our group. The waitstaff was very attentive and the specially prepared brunch buffet was extraordinary. Being seating in the domed pavilion was very welcoming as... It was a perfect evening in Edgartown having dinner at L'etoile. The atmosphere is delightful under the tent with the twinkling lights and candles on every table. The service was (as always) impeccable ... and the food ... well, let's just say the canard was magnifique!!!! Chef Michael is fantastic and a great guy too. We met him at the... More

We went to L'étoile expecting an outstanding culinary experience, and we were not disappointed. I started with the asparagus soup, and my husband with the duck crêpe; both were stellar. We each had the trout as our main dish -- perfect. Finally, for dessert, I had the flourless chocolate cake and my husband the strawberry shortcake. Wonderful end to a... More
