Real French Fare!

We go to the Vineyard every year and this is always our first stop. Never failing, always good french! I start with fromage, then, duck and finish with brulee'. Always always good!

Been here in our anniversary two years in a row. The food is quite good, and there's a lot of it. A nice change from so much of the pub food on the island. Nice ambiance and a good wine selection as well. It's very pricey, and I would say the food isn't quite as stunning as what you'd expect... More

We recently ate at l'etoile with friends and family. I had the duck, which was outstanding, and everyone was very happy with their meal. The food is fit for foodies and the atmosphere is cozy and charming, in an old house. If you're in Edgartown, this is a must do as part of your Martha's Vineyard vacation.

We were fortunate enough to arrive early, sit on the front porch, and have Aubrey taking care of us. The food was out of this world - we had the cheese plate, lobster roll, and halibut which were all out of this world. The rubarb dessert was mind blowing along with some delicious espresso. Cocktails were great, fun view of... More

We had actually walked into another restaurant, which was completely booked. Not ones to be disappointed, we moved onto and walked into E'etoile! Boy were we happy we did. Not only did we get the best waitress in the place, a lovely young woman named Brooklyn, she rose head and shoulders above the gloomy (sorry) hostesses, and other servers, who... More

We ate at the bar where the prices were very decent compared to the pricey but quaint dining room. We were very pleased with the atmosphere at the bar and the cozy setting for a cool night. The hamburger was very ample, tasty and well priced. The lobster roll was a bit untraditional (no mayo, yea!) but really delicious. The... More

Scotch in hand, bunnies running across the lawn, we stopped for a night cap. Didn't get to go in for dinner. Yet enjoyed the evening with overpriced scotch, on the chairs in the front lawn, and tended to by nice staff. One of my next visits, I'd like to try the food!

We love L'Etoile, both the restaurant and the bar. We ate in the bar the other night and I ordered a burger and my husband ordered the steak. We both ordered them rare. His was perfect and very good. Mine was very grey and a bit tough. My fault for not mentioning it right away. The waitress never checked on... More

On a birthday dinner we were delighted by the oysters and disappointed by the overcooked lamb rack chops. Service was good, atmosphere passable save for the fact that with no dress code men in shorts and flip-flops would never make it into a first-class French establishment. We also sat near a group of entitled young folks who would probably never... More

This spot for gathering with a small group is off the main street In Edgartown and across from some art galleries plus shops worth visiting. The menus is small as is the bar area.
