Cozy Italian in East Orleans

We have been visiting the various restaurant iterations/owners at this location for the last 35 years with its ups and downs. We were a little tired of the menu/refusal to alter orders, but they have really gotten it right now. I hear the owner, Art, has gone into the kitchen. Whoever is... read more

While staying in the area, I had arranged for a 7:30 reservation for four. Upon arrival, I was told that they didn't know what happened to our reservation but would seat us anyway. The service wasn't slow, it was appalling. I had chosen this restaurant because of the glowing reviews previously on this site, as well as the menu. I... More

Our reservations were at 7:30, we were seated then. A "boatload of people" came in. The service was slow, not good but these things happen. We were patient, two of the 4 meals arrived at 9:15; at 9:20 I tried to get the attention of the owner/bartender to ask for the other 2 meals. He served them without a word-no... More

I think this is one of the very best restaurants in the area. A cozy place, with two rooms of tables. We enjoyed a cocktail on the outdoor patio while waiting for our table. Friendly host and waiter. Excellent salads. Everything we had from the diverse menu was cooked perfectly and delicious. Not inexpensive but well worth the prices charged. We... More

Very disappointed. Just tourist and stopped quick to see the beach and have a drink and maybe an appetizer, but we would not be served. They would not let us sit at the beach side tables outside. Had it been busy, full, or even half full, we would have understood. But there were plenty of open tables. Finally they said... More

We were referred to the Nauset Beach Club restaurant and it was one of the best recommendations. It's a quaint little restaurant. The wait staff are all fairly young, extremely attentive and accommodating. My husband, 14 month old daughter and I were placed in a lovely corner (perfect when you have a child!) with booster seat waiting. I had a... More

the food is very solid here--among the best we had on the Cape. Scallops were yummy as were eggplant appetizer and risotto.

The food was gourmet and well presented. The reason we selected this restaurant was because it appeared to have outside seating. When we entered and asked to dine outside they told us that was just for drinks. Disappointed. We stayed, but restaurant dark and formal.

There is a great little snack shack at this beach--save room for the onion rings, or a milkshake or anything else yummy. Beach chairs can be rented for $5 a day. or half price after 3. Beach is wide and clean and has lifeguards. Water is cold!! I mean COLD.

As often as we had been to The Cape and Nauset Beach, we had always by-passed the Nauset Beach Club because we had seen pick-up trucks loaded with very rowdy college students parked nearby. This visit, the night clerk at the nearbyShips Knees Inn, however, disavowed us of this, and suggested that if we wanted a beautiful, QUIET, atmosphere and... More
