The owner of our motel, The Old Landing told us about the Wooden Shoe. If you are looking for fancy and upscale, this is not the place for you. It is simple in decor, menu and service, but all were good. We had steamers, chowder, lobster and scallops, all were fresh, prepared well and delicious. Our server was attentive and... More

The only thing The Wooden Shoe has going for it is that there was no wait for a table, and there are two good reasons for that: the service and the food. First the service. It was slow and unfriendly. Our server spilled a glass of water on my daughter. Accidents happen, no big deal it was only water. However,... More

If you are on the hunt for the best lobster roll on Cape Cod, find your way to The Wooden Shoe in Dennisport. The overstuffed lobster roll, served with potato chips and cole slaw, is full of tender lobster and no fillers. Anything else on the limited menu is always good, particularly since they serve no fried food. Bring cash... More

We had the most delicious lobster roll, fresh lobster, not rubber texture. Lobster bisque was amazing. And the Caesar salad was freshly put together and COLD. Nothing worse than a warm salad. It's a small menu because it's all home cooked! Went for drinks last night and loved the owner, Michelle, so we went back for dinner tonight. It's a... More

"The Shoe" as my folks call it have cheap drinks and good conversation. Not where I would go for Lobster (they overcooked minelast time I was there) but have had clams and mussles there in there that were fine.

Been going to the Wooden Shoe for over 15 years and look forward to visiting every summer. If you want lobster, steamers and best clam chowder you must go here. It's a pub with cheapest drinks on the Cape. If you want fancy go to ocean house,if you want good food and welcomed feeling, go to Wooden Shoe!

Not sure where those folks ate but nothing at the "Shoe" is fried at all. They serve rice as a side dish because they don't even have a fryer in the building. I'm obviously biased as I love this place and have been coming here for over 5 years but I wanted to be clear that there is no fried... More

We were told to try this place by the owner, David, of the Old Landing Motel. Great recommendation.!! You won't find better New England lobster than here for a fraction of the price of other restaurants in the immediate area. Tie on the bib and prepare yourself. The lobster was cooked to perfection, steaming hot and sweet. Accompanied with corn... More

Had a great waiter, Kevin, but despite his terrific service, this is a mediocre restaurant with a very limited menu and not great food. The best thing any of us had was the clam chowder, which was actually good, but the dinners -- including lobster -- were not even in the running for good. Would not go back again --... More
