Have reviewed the Red Pheasant before and it's one of our favorite restaurants on the Cape and anywhere! The farmhouse environment is charming and quaint. The atmosphere is quiet. The service is professional. And the food is delicious and plentiful. The menu features local fare and fresh seafood. The wine list is varied and reasonable. It's a great restaurant for... More

So good, every time. The oysters are incredible. The service is wonderful. A very special place. Try anything--you can't go wrong. I love the sole and duckling. The ingredients are top-notch and are sourced locally. The wine list is extensive. If you want a memorable and meaningful dinner, start here. I would recommend calling for a reservation, especially on weekends.... More

We live locally and had always wanted to try the Red Pheasant and we decided to try it to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and were delighted! The restaurant has a very pretty garden and by night is lit up with a fairy tale castle. We sat in the garden room and the restaurant was packed with a very lively... More

This is a very special restaurant, starting with the uniqueness of it being a former carriage house & barn over 200 years old. Lots of charm and character. Make a reservation, or you'll have a long wait. The appetizers were good, Barnstable oysters (unfortunately they just don't compare to Brewster or Wellfleet oysters, less flavor) and a salad which was... More

Worth the difficulty finding this lovely, quaint restaurant. Very nicely decorated, like stepping back in time. Food was delicious and our server was very helpful re the menu. A lovely evening.

We eat here every year and love it. The duck is fabulous, scallops were outstanding. Only disappointing part was the oyster appetizer. The six tiny oysters had zero flavor. My sister ordered the excellent chowder and my brother-in-law ordered the foie gras which he loved. We did not have dessert but they sounded most unusual, such as a raspberry bombe.... More

Thank you for your praise. We apologize, our Barnstable oysters are usually large and rarely disappoint. We appreciate your honesty. We look forward to making certain your oysters are perfect next time. More

We had such a fabulous dining experience at The Red Pheasant Inn with our extended family that we returned there for dinner the next evening with friends. The chowder and duck were superb, the pork chop and scallops were excellent, and the profiteroles and creme brûlée were delicious. The service was first-rate. Both the main dining room and the garden... More

We have been going to the Red Pheasant Restaurant for over Twenty Five years. I am astounded how they keep doing a very innovative menu year after year. The duck is the best we have had anywhere, Tuna was made perfectly. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Don't visit Cape Cod without including this restaurant in your plans.

The Red Pheasant is a bit out-of-the-way on Route 6A, but worth the short drive. If nothing else, start your meal with the Barnstable Oysters with Cucumber Mignonette....a bit pricey....but well worth every single bite. For the entrée, Sole Meuniere plated with an exquisite Gratin Potatoes is our yearly request. And for dessert....Tiramisu. Yum. My husband and I are creatures... More

We heard that this restaurant was very pricy but that the food was great. After a week of eating mostly fried fish we decided it was time to expand our horizon and go here for a gourmand experience. We were not disappointed! After waiting several minutes at the hostess desk a very pleasant woman came and greeted us. We were... More
