I have lived in Clinton for almost twenty years and the Old Timer has been part of my life all those years. It is great for an impromptu lunch while out doing errands or for dinner with friends. The Jimmy Burger has always been a favorite for lunch and the haddock for dinner. There are many other choices all of... More

Awesome new additions to the already great menu, a new steak item that was so tender, lobster roll was delicious! Atmosphere has always been great!!!! Bring family, a date or have a party in the private function room! A good time will be had by all!

The sign for the restaurant is above the McNully Pub sign - so don't miss it. The restaurant is quaint and don't let the antiquated interior deter you. The menu is filled with wholesome delights, each made with love and character. The service is outstanding and the staff is quite ready to help you make an excellent selection. The portions... More

Before we drove to Clinton (to visit the Russian Icon Museum), I checked out TripAdvisor for places to eat, as we knew we'd be having lunch there. "The Old Timer" stood out for us, and when it was lunch time, we had our hands stamped (to guarantee Museum re-entry), and off we went to eat. We walked in, and sat... More

This place is a Clinton landmark! It has an old-time, well-stocked bar area for drinks and informal dining; plus a large dining room with a full menu of popular meat and seafood dishes. Private function rooms are also available, and service is excellent. I have had a few functions there (e.g., bereavement brunches, class reunion) over the years, and the... More

Home sick for Ireland? I mean the REAL Ireland? This is the place, totally authentic, not a phony bone in this place. The bar is the best part of this venerable Clinton restaurant. Pub food is good value, hearty and the bar on a winter night is like returning to the motherland. No better bar in the USA. Go into... More

If I don't give the Old Tymer 5 stars (or TripAdvisor circles, I guess) I am pretty sure that someone from Clinton is going to magically appear, & kick the living you-know-what out of me. It would be tantamount to heresy, this I know. Hey, it's a great bar, with a lot of great people populating it, which is basically... More

Many types of beer available as well as a varied menu with many food options--lunch specials and also a dinner menu. The food served is plentiful and tasty. I had a cup of onion soup and a reuben sandwich for lunch that was very good. The waitresses are very efficient and pleasant. You won't walk away hungry, plus the prices... More

Last night we tried The Old Timers for a St. Patricks day celebration. This place is known for being very Irish so we decided to check it out. We made reservations for 5:30 (Saturday night before St. Patricks day) for 6 guest. When we first got there we were placed at a booth with a table attached to it and... More

We had heard some good things about this very long established Irish Pub and Restaurant. Given that we very much enjoy these types of places, we were very much looking forward to our first visit. Our server, while very pleasant and animated, was not very efficient. She neglected to tell us the specials, served my wife a glass of cabernet... More
