This place is a Clinton landmark! It has an old-time, well-stocked bar area for drinks and informal dining; plus a large dining room with a full menu of popular meat and seafood dishes. Private function rooms are also available, and service is excellent. I have had a few functions there (e.g., bereavement brunches, class reunion) over the years, and the... More

Home sick for Ireland? I mean the REAL Ireland? This is the place, totally authentic, not a phony bone in this place. The bar is the best part of this venerable Clinton restaurant. Pub food is good value, hearty and the bar on a winter night is like returning to the motherland. No better bar in the USA. Go into... More

If I don't give the Old Tymer 5 stars (or TripAdvisor circles, I guess) I am pretty sure that someone from Clinton is going to magically appear, & kick the living you-know-what out of me. It would be tantamount to heresy, this I know. Hey, it's a great bar, with a lot of great people populating it, which is basically... More

Many types of beer available as well as a varied menu with many food options--lunch specials and also a dinner menu. The food served is plentiful and tasty. I had a cup of onion soup and a reuben sandwich for lunch that was very good. The waitresses are very efficient and pleasant. You won't walk away hungry, plus the prices... More

Last night we tried The Old Timers for a St. Patricks day celebration. This place is known for being very Irish so we decided to check it out. We made reservations for 5:30 (Saturday night before St. Patricks day) for 6 guest. When we first got there we were placed at a booth with a table attached to it and... More

We had heard some good things about this very long established Irish Pub and Restaurant. Given that we very much enjoy these types of places, we were very much looking forward to our first visit. Our server, while very pleasant and animated, was not very efficient. She neglected to tell us the specials, served my wife a glass of cabernet... More

The Old Timer is a really nice place in Clinton to gather - have some good food and good drink and jst relax and hang out. It is really a shame that places like the Old Timer are getting replaced by the casual restaurant chains - the individuality of these places should not be lost.

My husband found it on the web and chose it because of the reviews. We did not know that there was a large room with a fireplace so we ate at the smaller bar side. I read that it was family owned and founded in 1929. I do not think it has been updated since 1950's. It does look very... More

While visiting some friends in the Clinton area we had the opportunity to visit The Old Timer Restaurant, a family run establishment and a mainstay in Clinton and the surrounding area since 1929. Walking into the Old Timer is a trip back to those days when the “tap room” was the focal point of the community. The building oozes history... More

The place has a charm of its own but, if coupled with a visit to the Russian Icon Museum, makes a perfect day visit to Clinton, MA. The food if heartily with cheeses and flavors, no doubt rich in cholesterol but for those on diet has a light pasta primavera. I enjoyed potato skins, others ordered second deserts. The atmosphere...
