An old favorite. Went last night, had the prime rib. You won't find it any better anywhere and only 18 bucks !
Sunday nights have live music. Our toddlers love it. Our favorite is the Haddock Saint James. The atmosphere of this place is fantastic. Jim the owner died not to long ago. He is missed.
The atmosphere when you walk in relaxes you from the start... the waitstaff greeted us with a smile and had us choose where we wanted to sit. This evenings festivities was to include a local brewery celebrating its 20th year and of course a nice dinner. Warm rolls were a nice beginning.... followed by a good portioned salad before our... After Museum of Russian Icons we split crab cakes and a roast beef sandwich ( with tomato, lettuce, onion, Russian dressing) and a cold Harpoon. It was delicious.

We met another couple at the Old Timer for an early dinner on a Saturday night. Since it was so early there was plenty of seating in the dining room. We ordered four different meals. The salads arrived quickly and were better than average. When the meals arrived they were hot and delicious. I had the chicken saltimbocca (chicken stuffed... More
Loved the wait staff and the "pub food". Lots of choices for beverages. There were about 50 of us and 4 different dishes. The Old Timer's team did a great job of getting our food order correct and serving with a smile. Wish there had been music in the private room. We wanted to "party" a little but moved on... More
My wife planned a fairly large (40+) people the night before a family wedding. She planned the event over email and we were very satisfied with the result. Drink service was fast. Food service was a little slow but can be overlooked given the numbers involved. The actual meals were fine and a good value. I would certainly go back.
I went with people who love this place. We ordered the Sunday night Roast Beef Buffet for $17.99 with return to the buffet, as it was unlimited trips. The soup was wonderful and the salad and dressing was also great. The beef was down to the end of the roast and there was nothing left but scraps and fat. I... More
I have lived in Clinton for almost twenty years and the Old Timer has been part of my life all those years. It is great for an impromptu lunch while out doing errands or for dinner with friends. The Jimmy Burger has always been a favorite for lunch and the haddock for dinner. There are many other choices all of... More
