Doesn't look like much from the front...GO INSIDE!

What a true surprise this place was! Out on the street, it looked like another old neighborhood bar. We went into the bar (not realizing there is a separate dining room entrance). The bartender was quite friendly and told us we could eat in the bar or in the dining room. He pointed us at the... read more

Our son flew in from California to spend a few days with us, and today (7/7), we all drove to Clinton MA for the day. We discovered this small New England town last year, and it was on our "must return" list. We spent the morning at "The Museum of Russian Icons", and then (just like last year) came here... More

Myself and a friend had lunch at the Old Timer in Clinton, Ma yesterday. I had the open turkey sandwich...gravy, veggie, cranberry sauce, typical hot turkey sandwich, except and here is where the Old Timer outdid itself compared to other restaurants!!! There is NO CHARGE for sweet potato fries...and they are the best we have ever had...not real skinny fries... More

ride your horse right on up to the door and go back in time, to when clinton was a prosperous factory town. this restaurant was a landmark, and still serves food and drinks, with a bit of old world charm. the decor hasnt changes since the 40's (my guess), and it is a bit dark and dingy. the food is... This restaurant has been around since at least the 1920's, and is a Clinton classic, run by the same family for several generations. The food is very basic (prime rib, pasta, sandwiches, burgers), it's inexpensive, and it's a real home-town place. The interior has paintings on the walls done during the depression, and the booths are cozy and old-style. There's... More

Happened upon this place for a quick bite next to the Historical Strand Theatre and their Haddok Sandwich was really good. Nice decor and atmosphere

If you want to hang out at the best neighborhood bar, forget Cheers, head for The Old Timer. They have a wide variety of beer on tap, including hard ciders. I usually get their generously sized Margarita. They have a full menu of delicious dinners and pub food. Friendly bartenders and brimming with atmosphere, I give The Old Timer two... More

Very good home town cooking. Extensive menu, enough for anybodys taste. Nice waitress. I do think that the lighting is too low for older people: I used my cell phone's light to read the menu.

An old favorite. Went last night, had the prime rib. You won't find it any better anywhere and only 18 bucks !

Sunday nights have live music. Our toddlers love it. Our favorite is the Haddock Saint James. The atmosphere of this place is fantastic. Jim the owner died not to long ago. He is missed.
