I'm told that the building housing Moonstones was, once upon a time, Howard Johnson's. What a change from that era! It is a very tasteful and comfortable restaurant, with quite muted decor. My wife and I, along with her son and his wife, were there for lunch on a Saturday; so I don't know what the menu would have looked... More

This was a fantastic meal! Great gourmet destination in the suburbs of Boston. Close to nothing, but well worth the drive. The menu is "global tapas", meaning small, medium and large plates of a variety of styles and cuisines. Seems to be a slight emphasis on Asian, but a tasty and well-executed menu with something for everyone's palate.

Moonstones is, by far, my favorite place in the Chelmsford/Lowell area. The food is wonderfully inventive, the service superior and the cocktails sublime. It doesn't quite compare with the very best creme de la creme places in the Boston-Cambridge-Somerville area, but Moonstones uses local Chelmsford honey in their dishes and they always have inventive cocktails. Being local, this is my... More

We happened to be staying at the best western next to this restaurant so it was an easy choice for dinner. We were so pleasantly surprised! Great menu, good food, fun cocktails and nice service.

While traveling we stopped overnight at the Best Western and noticed Moonstones in front, so we went in for dinner. The décor is very nice and they had a large selection of tapas, as well as beers and wines. My wife had the taco and the beet tapas, which she enjoyed immensely. I settled for the Joe Burger and a... The decor is quite different with hanging silver spheres and recessed lighting - so I will label it as eclectic. The restaurant is owned by Scott & Kathy Plath - the waitress informed me that it is their second regionally successful restaurant venture, the first being Cobblestones of Lowell. Their hope is to provide the local community a progressive, quality... More

We had a lovely meal of small plates, accompanied by a terrific selection of beer and wine. Be sure to ask the waiter for suggestions on what to eat and how much to order. We were served by Joseph R - a real pro!

Really good experience. Was solo and just wanted a nice dinner. They delivered. I was especially pleased with my server Jennifer. She was so nice and pleasant. The food was great, I had a red curry pasta with scallops and shrimp in it. It was suburb. If you are in this area I am sure you will love it.

Moonstones is beautifully decorated, especially the bar. The atmosphere feels high-end but is still relaxing. It's a great place for couples or small groups. I was there with my (adult) daughter. We sat in the lounge area which is very comfortable. The menu is full of interesting drinks and 'small plates', like tapas or appetizers, that are very enticing for... More
