Very Cool Little Spot

Popped in after riding around the Chatham area of Cape Cod. We visited the 1st part of April, so many of the stores/restaurants on the Cape are still not open for summer business quite yet. But was very pleased to find Chatham Squire was open on a drizzly damp day. Quite an assortment of draft... read more

The Squire has been a popular local spot for years. On a recent visit, I enjoyed the smoked salmon platter. It featured excellent smoked salmon, chive cream cheese, pumpernickel, cornichons, and caper berries. I would have preferred regular capers; the berries are too big and seedy. Everything else was delicious. My companion, however, was unimpressed with her burger and fries.... More

We spent a weekend in Chatham and decided both nights we just wanted a simple dinner. The first night we both had specials, and I have to say we were surprised by the quality, and overwhelmed by the quantity. My fish was perfectly cooked, and my DC's veal was tender and delicious. There is a respectable beer list and an... More

We were travelling along Cape Cod, first ever visit and stopped in Chatham. The village itself was quaint with individual shops It was out of season but still was a great place to browse individual shops. The Squire was busy at lunch but well staffed with friendly staff. We only had bowl of Clam Chowder which was tasty with big... More

The atmosphere is always fun here. We had lunch and it was very good. The salad creation was quite good as was the bisque. Lots of lobster in the bisque. An interesting choice on the kids menu included veggies, fruit crackers and cheese and my son ate every bit! The only complaint was the popcorn shrimp was VERY spicy.

Always stop in when we travel to the Cape. It's the quintessential Cape Cod pub! Lively crowd and good food. Fried clams are the best!

My husband and I went for dinner last Friday night. We were staying at the Captains House Inn and we wanted to eat close by. We were seated right away. Atmosphere was good. But, the food was expensive. I ordered lobster salad for $22. It was on a small cold croissant roll that must have just come out of the... More

A total dive bar. The bartender was very friendly. My cooking grade glass of port was bitter with a sticky glass. Glad we got food elsewhere!

We were in Chatham on a snowy day and not many places were open. We ended up having both lunch and dinner at the Squire. In both instances the food was very good and reasonably priced. Nice selection on the menu. The steak tips were a bargain! Service was attentive.
