Why is the Squire so popular? I've been going here for many years and I have some thoughts on the place. 1. It's been here forever and therefore there is a lot of nostalgic memories for people. Even though the food and service has varied considerably over the years, it's a place people have built into their summer dining plans... More

Right off the top I want to state that I have been going to The Squire since it opened in 1968. My wife and I had our first date there almost 40 years ago. Now we live off Cape but we always make at least 3 to 4 trips a year to Chatham. Each trip includes at least one to... More

Were out shopping in Chatham and heard fun coming from inside this place, so we decided to check it out. Only stopped in for a few drinks. SO much to look at inside. Normally places with so much 'stuff' going on are dirty, this place looks like it is dusted on a regular basis. We sat at the front bar... More

All the locals recommend this place. It's cute from the outside, but it is dark, outdated, and dank on the inside. It looks dirty and it smells old and musty. My first impulse was to turn around and run, but hey, how could so many local people be wrong!? Fruit served with appetizer was browning and dried out, obviously cut... More

We ate lunch here; my chicken salad sandwich was excellent. The wait was not too long. We went back a few nights later to get a drink. While the restaurant was very family-friendly, the bar is very much college or just-out-of-college age. It was not as fun as I remember; maybe I'm too old now. In any case, we had... More

Very popular night time bar scene, had to wait in line on a weekend night. Drink prices were reasonable. Fun crowd.

The Squire has been around a long time so there is always a line waiting to get in for food and drinks. It has a typical New England menu with a full array of seafood dishes that are tasty and filling. Interesting appetizers, decent chowder, good salads and a variety of entrees along with sandwiches and pizza make it a... More

We visited this restaurant on a busy Sunday in July on the recommendation it's a good restaurant to bring children. We were seated right away which was nice. However, I was not at all impressed. I ordered the Linguini with clams and it was terrible. It was loaded with oregano, and really no other seasoning. I'm not terribly picky, but... More

Chatham Squire is indeed a local favorite, and has had a lot of hype about how great it is for years. We've been there a few times, thinking each time that maybe we missed something because it is really just mediocre and quite noisy.

Dined here for lunch with 4 kids and 3 adults after Seal Boat Tour. We had been to the bar side before and didn't expect such delicious food. Our server was fantastic and very knowledgeable about our son's dining restrictions due to celiac. She offered substitutions and guided us to the gf menu items (the menu had plentiful gf options...
