Firstly, as of September 1, 2014 they were not closed. I was there. They were open last Labor Day as well. I was there. I have read other reviews and there appears to be a real love-hate relationship here so I'll land firmly in the middle. It is totally local. It seems to be where the locals go to get... More

My family and I enjoyed a day of fun at the Cataumet Crossing play area. When it came time for lunch we decided to check out The Parrot Bar and Grill. The front door was locked so we walked around back. The hostess sat us at our table (there was only one other family there) and the waiter took our... More

After carefully reading their website including looking at their menus, their specials AND their operating hours, a friend and I drove to Cataumet Friday night for dinner. CLOSED!!! My rating is based entirely on the restaurant's lack of attention to detail. I mean, how hard is it to keep a website up-to-date?

A friend told me about this locally owned and operated pub/restaurant near where I was staying at the Wood Duck Inn... Greeted by the owner behind the bar... a lot of locals... food is just OK... chowder was better than average... the atmosphere was mixed... Keeno machines on the bar side, bar stools were uncomfortable. Would go back... but only... More

but boy, did our overwhelmed wait person step up to the task! She made the drinks, bussed the tables, and brought the food. I commend her. The food was very good, and the selections are expansive. The fish chowder was deemed very good, as was the fish sandwich. I very much enjoyed their hand cut onion rings. I recommend Parrot... More

If you can get there on Thursdays, their ribs are the best around and it is their special that day. The regular menu is also very good. We have been there several times and have tried several sandwiches, fish and chips, scallops, clams, etc. all is good but the ribs are worth a special visit!

We were driving down Route 28a looking for a place to eat without a queue and stumbled upon the Parrot Bar & Grill. The resturant was 90% full when we arrived and had a queue of its own a few minutes later. The staff was superb, both friendly and professional. The surroundings were more bar like than resturant and the... More

My wife and I go by here often and decided to give it a try. The food was good and the service was very good and friendly. Based on what we had we will go back again. Five star it's not but fine for a quick meal.

We stopped in last week on our way from the beach. The food was "okay" and the service was decent. They do have Keno so that was a plus.

Decided to retry it months after lousy service and "just OK" food. The place was hot inside and offers slightly more ambiance than a gussied up garden shed. We waited a solid 5 minutes at the bar while the male bartenders chatted and made us feel invisible. I wouldn't have minded it if it were busy but there were only... More
