Homemade food in old house setting

Very friendly, excellent food! We had the special chicken pot pie, very good, it was the last day they were serving it for the season.

We went our first evening on the cape--its a comfortable restaurant with a wide selection and knowledgeable wait staff. I loved the sweet potato wedges! Will definitely go there again on future visits.

Unfortunately this was open during our Cape Cod visit and looked perfect however when the food came it was obvious that we would be disappointed. Hubby hated his broiled fish platter and stuffed quahog. Sister said her stuffed mushrooms were terrible. I liked my clams casino but the glasses of wine were small and I thought overpriced. Ugh

We had lunch here on the recommendation of the folks at the Brewster Country Store and were so glad we did. Both orders were perfect. We each had one of the daily specials -- a grilled Rubin w/slaw and a Roast Beef on Wick w/clam chowder. The chowder was fantastic and the slaw (not one of my favorites) very good.... More

A lovely surprise with great service and excellent food. We enjoyed the fried oysters served with sweet potato fries and their own homemade cole slaw. The oysters were sweet, juicy and had the lightest crispy coating.

The food was fairly average but not bad. But we asked our waitress before we ordered that we would like separate checks and she said no problem but then presented one check and really balked at making individual checks. We were a party of three couples. They were not busy so we were dismayed at her reaction.

Everytime I visit the cape I make it a point to go here for dinner. Their homecooked meals are wonderful. I had coq au vin chicken smouthered with mushrooms over a bed of warm mashed potatoes, with butternut bisque to start the meal off. What a treat.

Riding on the CCRT. Not sure what this place is like during tourist season. But off season, wonderfully local. About 10 people in bar, bartender knew them all by name. Had the fish and chips. Warmed me up for next part of the ride.

Stopped in for a cup of chowder at the recommendation of a local merchant. Chowder was good with a pronounced lemon flavor; Fresh clams and a nice creamy base without any starchiness. Th grilled cheese with tomato sandwich was yummy. Husband had tuna on toasted rye bread which was just OK. Staff was super friendly and attentive. This is a... More

Recommended by our host at The Old Manse Inn. This is one of the best restaurants on the Cape. Food preparation and combination was unique and extremely enjoyable. Make a reservation ahead of time if traveling in season. It books fast.
