My family and I always looked forward to going to El Sarape on a special occasion. The last time we went a few weeks ago everything changed from our previous experiences. The food quality had gone down considerably, the prices up, and the food quantity also down. We had been coming for 10 years and am now sorry to say... More

When we arrived, they let us wait for six minutes before seating us, while several servers passed us without even looking at us. The staff was very impolite. Also, don't expect toenjoy your meal at El Sarape when you are vegetarian. It is vegetarian unfriendly. Even the rice is cooked with turkey broth! That leaves you with a sad looking... More

This is by far the best Mexican restaurant around. Authentic cuisine, phenomenal cocktails and great staff. If you are ever in the area you must give it a try!

We have been going to El Sarape for 20+ years and have never had anything but an excellent meal. Not tex-mex but the real deal. The salsa is excellent and I love the enchiladas with the green and or mole sauce, beef tostada, and pollo cilantro. You would never guess that the food is this good by the "modest" appearance... I've been to El Sarape dozens of times over the years and had the pleasure of dining there another time tonight. You wouldn't know it from either the outside appearance which is admittedly tired and worn or the somewhat dated & cheesy Mexican decor inside, BUT the food is why you came here, right? This is REAL Mexican, with a... More

Los mejores sabores! El Sarape is by-far one of my favorite restaurants in the South Shore. I cannot eat any other Mexican food without comparing it back to El Sarape! Authentic, fresh ingredients, and always consistent. Great ambiance and service. Highly recommend.

El Sarape is a place that so good that, as you're leaving, you're looking forward to coming back--soon. We have eaten there on many occations with friends & family for just a good meal or to celebrate a birthday. Nachos are great and the beer is icy cold. The wait staff knows the menu and can recommend if you choose.... More

I love and crave Mexican food often, so it is great that I can walk to El Serape. My wife and I eat at El Serape at least once a week. Our first date was at El Serape so it has a sentimental place in my heart but it is also like hanging with family when we go there. Yes,... More

Eating here is just delightful and has never let me down even after going here for many years! I almost always get the same thing and going here with friends is always fun. The staff are willing to accommodate for larger groups and its always fun!
