napping under my sombraro

The host/waiter is great he seats you right away and gets drink right over. You cant stop eating the nacho chips but the salsa is a little too watery for me. I am pretty sure all the orders are made to order because it is not uncommon for you to have to wait quite a while for your order to... read more

i was recently there with friends and they loved the food. The service was good, parking at times can be tough. El Sarape is a fun place to go.

6 of us went here with no reservation of the early side of this past Saturday night. Enjoyed the live music, the company, the service and the food. The place was packed between our snow storms. I notice questions about the service and it was perfect, sweet and fun. I have always found the menu consistently good and flavorful. We... More

We have gone to El Sarape for over 10 years and it serves the best Mexican food on the South Shore. Service and price have been weak points we have overlooked in the past, but on this particular night we were very disappointed. We brought our children, who are older and have also been many times. As soon as we... More

This use to be my favorite Mexican restaurant in Boston and on the South Shore. I haved lived in Mexico for a few years and am always asked where is the best place to eat in the Boston area and, of course, I always recommend el Sarape. Upon arriving yesterday, we noticed the sign and the outside of the restaurant... More

My husband and I went to El Sarape to celebrate our nieces 12th birthday on a Saturday night. We had made reservations so our party was seated right away in the back area away from the noise of the bar. The restaurant is authentic Mexican from the food all the way to the décor. They even had a Mexican band... More

I went there with my hubby intending on getting Mexican food but I got a chicken dish that I wish I had written the name down. It was the best dish ever. The drinks were great and we went early on Valentines Day and by the time we are and were leaving the line was outside around the block.

For years El Serape has been turning out the best Mexican food in the Braintree/Quincy/Weymouth area. If you can't get there early you are destined to wait to be seated. Staff are very well trained and service is outstanding. The food is authentic Mexican, well prepared, attractively plated and delivered quickly. Over the years I've never had an unpleasant experience... More
