We went to Pongal after more than a year and found it having gone down in quality. Service was generally poor. Our favorite dish is Rava Dosa which is usually done well. However this time it was oily and the masala had only onions and no potatoes! The Chettinad Chicken was sloppily put in the dish and served equally sloppily.... More

We went as a family to this restaurant based on nice internet reviews. We planned it for the Friday night. There was no waiting queue however they took so long time to take order and even worst time for deliver the food. We thought they were taking time means food will be very awesome, but the food was really crab.... More

We are no longer near Pongal but remember the place nostalgically. We ate there maybe 30-40 times in last 5 years. There was a time when we went there twice a month for a brunch. Kids truly enjoyed an authentic Indian experience. The variety/spread is great with good options for vegetarians and meat-lovers. The food is more suited for and... More

This place serves some real good Indian food. "The food is very authentic and tasty." I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are in this area. There are a number of Indian restaurants that serve random nonsense calling it Indian, and this is NOT one of them. The food is real Indian and really tasty.

We had been here for lunch buffet a few years ago. It was mobbed and there was a huge choice of wonderful food. People were waiting outside to get in. Imagine our surprise when we recently arrived to find an almost empty parking lot. Upon entry we noticed the buffet seemed smaller and only two other tables were occupied. Odd... More

Since I've eaten here on the weekend a couple of times, I know that the restaurant can get jammed pack. Once, we waited 45 minutes, but we also arrived around 1 PM. I called to make reservations and was even reminded to arrive on time. We got to the restaurant just minutes before it opened and my friends joked about... More

First time here. Tried several times but closed due to weather problems. Went on Wednesday since buffet night. Nice to have lots of dishes to try. The main problem was the food was at best lukewarm. The service was fine.

We went to Pongal on mothers day, ordered food for kids and us at around 7:15. We got our food at 8:15. We asked them in-between about how along it will take, both time they said they will go and check but never came back with an answer. The food here is expensive, but the service they provide does not... More

Food is always tasty here, with a good mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dinners. The breads are tasty, with just the right amount of crisp and doughy-ness. They do adjust the spice content, if you ask. Also, the Indian beer is cold and refreshing (King Fisher brand I believe - not sure what other varieties they have, as I haven't... More

NASTY MANNERS, PLEASE AVOID PONGAL. I went to Pongal for a week-day buffet. I was late because of meetings. Within 10 minutes, restaurant people came and told all that they are taking away all the items because it is 2:30. We and others in the restaurant asked the restaurant to keep the items in place till we complete our lunch,... More
