Not that the North Shore does not have classic, fancy restaurants, but the general fare is more seafood, ethnic, and informal. The Cygnet is different. It is a class, soft-lighting, comfortable upscale restaurant. The waiter was great and the food was excellent. It is a good spot for a celebration or anniversary meal. Although only 5 or 6 minutes from... More

Cygnet is a classic: talented mixologists behind the bar, excellent service, a menu loaded with good choices, and a really comfortable place to enjoy good company. The restaurant is totally dependable; it fits us like a glove.

One of the nicest features of Cygnet is the seating which allows comfortable conversation at each table. One this Friday at lunch, there were some grandparents and their offspring, ladies lunching, one or two regulars at the bar, and ourselves were catching up at leisurely paces. The Salad Nicoise was my choice and easily the best at the table for... More

On our recent visit we were constantly bothered by flies while trying to eat our lunch. Not one fly...but many flies, one even got stuck in my brother-in-law's mayo... We spoke to the owner about his fly problem...his answer was: You get flies in September and October, not much you can do about it. As he was speaking to us...flies... More

Food, service and atmosphere was very good. If you are in the area this one is worth it. Very pleasant with good selections and moderate prices.

Enjoyed my recent dinner at Cygnet (first time I visited). It was quite empty on a Tuesday evening, so we got a nice corner table close to the window. Server was efficient and friendly. I had an Asian-inspired tuna appetizer, served almost raw (as it should be) with a spicy coating. Chose the halibut as my entree - perhaps a... More

Food is good and service is attentive but borders on overly friendly. We had a good dinner but not superb when we got the bill however we noticed an extra wine on our tab that we did not order. When brought to the attention of our server and it was taken care of however we wonder how often this mistake... More

Had the Pan Seared salmon and veal piccata entrees - very good. Salads were excellent - wine good. The booth we were in was in a high traffic area - not too happy about the traffic. The waitress seemed to be always over at another table and we had to keep trying to get her attention. Good but could have... More

After a show at the North Shore Music Theatre, we drove to this nearby restaurant. There we found delicious food and a cozy atmosphere. The wild mushroom risotto, prime rib, and scallops got rave reviews from among our party of four. But the tuna, which the server recommended be cooked medium rare, ended up cold and pink on the inside.... More

We went there Saturday night, four of us..We all have terrible meals, the prime rib you couldn't even cut, never mind eat, the filet was dry and the salmon potato crust was burnt. Service was only fair at best..Very disappointing, will not return there again, we used to go alot..
