My favorite bakery

Vicki Lee's has wonderful pastries and desserts, as well as the kind of composed salads that are perfect for a light lunch. The patrons are an interesting mix of Belmont residents, although children and teenagers are notably absent. The food may be a little too healthy for them! I have found the... read more

The tempting delights in the bakery case would make a perfect treat for anytime. We ordered the fish tacos (daily special) with field greens salad, and the double crab cake also served with field greens. The fish tacos were excellent, served with perfectly spiced slaw in a browned soft tortilla. The crab cakes had a deliciously crispy panko crust. My... More

The food is good enough that I've been back several times, usually for lunch with friends, and the decor is attractive and fresh, making great use of the natural light that floods into the space, but I'm always disappointed by the service which fluctuates between sloppy and rude, and over officious and intrusive. I'll almost certainly go again, but I'll... More

This little gem is the perfect place to meet friends or clients for a casual breakfast or lunch. Clean, with sleek contempory decor, it's a bright and sunny spot. Even better than the decor is the food- I have never been unhappy. They have delicious pastries and quiches, make a terrific cup of coffee and offer a number of delicious... More

The name does not, in my mind, prepare you for the sleek modern interior of this delicious and cosmopolitan cafe. From breakfast to lunch and catering, this restaurant will be sure to have something for everyone. Perfectly prepared pastries, from scones and muffins as well as unexpectedly amazing breakfast sandwich combinations topped of with strong rich coffee leave you very... More

The cakes and pastries here are unbelievably good. Birthdays and special occasions are celebrated in our house with a cake from Vicki Lee's. If you love chocolate and haven't had the chocolate ganache cake, you need to do that right away. The cupcakes, macaroons, pastries - all are fabulous. If you want a truly spectacular and exquisite cake, get it... More

The food is good but the staff is so rude, specially the owner, that I never feel like staying... They don't want people to sit at the bar to have a coffee even for 5 min, the reason.... No idea, the owner seems to be in another planet... I would rather go elsewhere

Full disclosure - We've only been to Vicki Lee's for Sunday brunch, and for us 3.5 stars is a more appropriate rating. Vicki Lee's is located in Cushing Sq., the "blue collar" neighborhood of Belmont, so the patrons are a fascinating mix of haves and have nots, with a noticeable skew towards retirees/social security beneficiaries and bored soccer moms gossiping... Have had the lemon chicken several times. It's worth going back for again and again. And the cookies are to die for! Most of the ratings don't apply here because it's a drop-in lunch spot and we've only done takeout. But it's great for a quick takeout dinner or lunch when you're not up to cooking.
