Good food

I had the slow cook lamb shank. It was tasty. Portion was ok, I was very hungry so I thought I could use more lamb. Service was not bad, the lady was very professional and patient for a party of 8 people including 2 kids under 4yrs. My wife and mother in law had crab cake and they loved it.

The food here was actually not half bad! I got the caesar salad with anchovies, fries, and a cup of chowder. So I will start off and say that. But, we came in recently and it was not busy whatsoever. There were 3 workers sitting up front with nothing to do. We came in and the girl just asked where... More

The 'standard' place to get a little bit of everything; traditional yet current. Good food! We did take-out because we had our pup in the room back at the Lion and Lamb B&B....

Arrived with another couple looking for drinks. Despite ample space in the outdoor area, we were told to go to the bar if we weren't ordering food. We went to the bar and sat at a booth- a waitress came over and asked if we were getting food. We said no and then she set the table for two- for... More

We've been coming here every year when we go to the Cape (from Boston). We love the outdoor patio, and have always found the service and food very good. Tonight we also were fortunate to have a very very sweet waitress - really great. (I don't know her name but she likes the beach and has a 4 year old... More

My grandmother has fond memories of eating here with my grandfather. Since his passing she likes to visit places she once went with him whenever we are on the cape. Recently we went back for lunch and it was an extremely disappointing experience. We arrived the restaurant was empty and ordered three salads, one sandwich. It should have been a... More

I read about your dining experience here at the tavern and all I can say is that I am so sorry! I have looked into the matter to see what occurred and why your party had this experience. Your server was quite new and apparently overwhelmed. You got caught in the middle of it all and for that I am... More

While exploring the Cape Cod area, we took a scenic drive which took us through the little town of Barnstable...we were looking for a place to have dinner, and picked this place since it looked so quaint from the street. We were promptly seated outside in their beautiful patio and had a lovely dinner. Food was tasty and perhaps a... More

We were a group of 3 kids and 6 adults. We arrived around 5pm for an early dinner and were able to be seated right away on the front patio. Menu had a nice variety and the prices were reasonable. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered. Staff was friendly although a tad slow. Overall a good family meal.
