Perfect dinner!!

Six course meal was phenominal. Their wine list is extensive, but with a little help, the waiter gave us a suggestion based on what we were looking for, and we loved it. I also appreciated the fact that he gave me the wine to sample and NOT my husband because, after all, I was the one telling him... read more

Fine dining at it's best! Took my wife there for her birthday and it more than lived up to expectation. The restored plantation house is incredible, you have your hor d'oeuvres surrounded by antiques and soft music. The dining rooms are rustic and clean. Our wait staff could not have been more attentive, when I went to the rest room... More

It really doesn't get much better than this anywhere, let alone in little old Taneytown (pronounced tawnee-town if you're not a local). You start your evening out with hand passed horderves and cocktails in the tastefully furnished rooms off of the main hallway. After a number of horderves you're personally escorted to your table where you're presented with your personalized... More

My wife and I traveled from Gettysburg to Taneytown to have an anniversary dinner at the Smokehouse Restaurant at the Antrim 1844, a very scenic winding rural road journey of about 22 minutes. Thankfully we have gps in our car because we would have lost our way - especially when the gps told us that we had arrived and there... More

We love Antrim and the Smokehouse Restaurant. We've been celebrating anniversaries, birthdays, holidays and ordinary days with fabulous dinners at the SmokeHouse Restaurant for 15 years. Our favorite table is by the fireplace next to the piano, so cozy in the winter. We were huge fans of Michael Gettier while he was the Executive Chef and Spencer Wolff has carried... More

Beautiful grounds. Staff very attentive. Great wine selection. Food was very good, not great. Staff was very attentive but not over-bearing. Ask for a look at the wine cellar.

Wedding party of over 200 served best Maryland crab cakes ever. rehearsal dinner was also exceptional. I mention these large parties because it is perhaps more difficult to manage serving groups with food which is as excellent as if it were ordered one plate at a time.

The afternoon started with tea time, then several hours later, drinks and appetizers, then on to a 6 course dinner. All that in one day, then pre breakfast and breakfast the following morning.

This whole inn complex was charming. We attended a wedding reception here, with cocktails in the lovely gardens and dinner in a nearby bungalow-style building. Food was elegant and beautifully served. The 1844 fieldstone inn was gorgeously appointed but we did not stay there. Also numerous lodging cottages on the grounds, which looked intriguing. We would return here as a... More

Eight of us thoroughly enjoyed an evening at Antrim 1844. I cannot call it just a meal; it's really an experience, from the moment the guest arrives at the mansion's reception lobby. We were escorted to a variety of sitting rooms and bars to enjoy a beverage and butlered canapes as we relaxed a bit before being shown to our... More
