OK, let's say it right at the start: this place isn't cheap. But it's worth every penny. A beautiful setting. A well-trained and friendly staff. A smallish but multi-course menu with every item done to perfection. We shall return.

My husband and I recently treated ourselves to a dinner at the Antrim for our wedding anniversary. Dining at the Smokehouse (known to the locals as "The Antrim") was easily one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. From the moment you enter, I felt welcomed by the staff, and treated like royalty. We enjoyed a 6 course... More

Dining at the Smokehouse Restaurant is more than just having dinner. It is an experience that begins with appetizers and cocktails in a lounge with a piano player. After settling in, you are taken to your table to enjoy amazing service and food. The entire meal takes some time -- there are five courses to get through -- but is... More

Let me first preface this by saying that many of the issues I had with the meals (dinner & breakfast) at the Antrim revolve around my meal which was comically BAD, but it is worth mentioning that I was accompanied by 3 guests who were all dissapointed by the experience. Two guests had been many times before and felt something... More

Food and service were outstanding. We received a personally signed menu from the chef and everything was excellent. I had the fillet and it was wonderful- my wife had fish and was also outstanding. Beautiful room decorated with fresh flowers and overlooking the gardens.

Absolutely delightful. The staff is most helpful and the food was great. Only negative... we were so "stuffed". The wine list is overwhelming in a GREAT way. Do not miss out on this treasure in Taneytown, MD.

While waiting to meet with our wedding coordinator, we killed time at the Pickwick Pub. Leather sofas next to the old wood burning fireplace, scotch in hand... come on! A perfect way to spend a cold, snowy Saturday. I recommend this place highly.

We recently had dinner at Antrim 1844 and then spent the night there. The whole weekend was a great time. First we had a cocktails with the other dinners in two of the drawing rooms of the mansion, beautifully decorated, very festive. The scotch was great and we chatted with several other diners. Then we were seated and began the meal.... More

We have been regular diners at Sheppards Mansion, Hanover, PA till Chef Little moved to another location and the restaurant closed. We went to Antrum expecting the same dining experience but were disappointed with food and service. We were constantly being offered alcohol, the food was poor quality and inferior. We waited a long time for a course to be served.
