Will Miss You, Mark's!

We've been coming to Mark's, mainly for breakfast, since it opened over 20 years ago. We've never been disappointed by the quality and quantity of food, great if busy service and classic small town atmosphere with a Korean twist. Mark, a very friendly presence hovering over all, has had little... read more

I almost rated this place a two, but gave it a three simply because they tried. I was so disappointed that I don’t know where to begin. I ordered the market salad and couldn’t believe what was placed in front of me – a huge bowl with one small leaf each -- lettuce, kale, cabbage, one match strip each –... More

Had very good Bip Bim Bop. Eclectic menu, Reasonably priced, great and friendly service. Nice find while I'm in the area on a business trip.

It was cold and rainy and I was NOT in the mood to cook. This place is in my neighborhood and the name "kitchen" sounds homey and comforting. The food was great! My husband had the lamb kabob over rice - I had the chicken over couscous. I also ordered the vegetarian lasagna - BINGO! This was the highlight of... More

Although known for its Korean food, at a recent lunch my husband and I both opted for the black bean veggie burger. I had it plain; he chose all the trimmings. We were both delighted. May have been the best veggie burger ever. Will definitely go again, but may have to eat the same thing again. Unpretentious neighborhood favorite. Loved... More

I used to eat a lot of Korean food until I went meatless. Mark's was a short ride from College Park, MD, and Takoma had a college town feel to it as well on a smaller basis. Funky crowd and more funky surroundings made for interesting distractions. Food was terrific and staff accomodating as we arrived before they were serving... More

A neighborhood institution. Interesting korean spin on diner food. Place is too cramped though. When it's cold and when the door opens, the front part of the place gets a frequent blast of cold. Nice dessert options. burgers are ho hum. wait staff is very friendly. great beer choices. food looks good on paper but doesn't deliver on potential.

This is an old favorite in Takoma Park. It is unassuming but the food is excellent. The problem is that it feels like a fast food restaurant -- it's a deli with small tables and hard chairs. No frills, and no comforts. Not a place to meet with friends or family. It's one of the best menus in a town... More

I've always enjoyed the Bulgogi and the Asparagus Pesto Penne, but recently I tried the Udon Soup and it was so delicious and satisfying. Friendly Service and Mark himself almost always stops by to say Hi. Price is right. A terrific place for a good meal any time. Casual atmosphere.
