The elegant dining room of Kingfishers merges artwork with nature. A mural spans the space and is accented by lifelike hand-crafted wooden carvings of Maryland estuary life. All of this overlooks the scenic waterfront of a Patuxent River inlet. Kingfishers is the perfect place to fulfill your business or social event. It is refined enough to have an important meeting but also casual enough to stop in for a beer and some fare after work. Also available is an outside deck, several transient slips, and an upstairs inside/outside bar. Dress is casual, and seating is on a first come, first serve basis. Check the on-site catering tab or call to inquire about room rental and event planning.

Great Crab CAKEs and Bloody Mary's

My friend and I had lunch on the deck. Nice view. The Bloody Mary was the best I have had in a long while. We started off with fried calamari. It was not spicy and the calamari was tender but still lacked a little bit of salt for flavor. I hesitate to mention as I could add salt. I had... read more

This is among my favorite Solomon's Island hangouts. You will get personalized attention at Kingfisher. Introduce yourself to owner/manager Eric. Both staff and patrons are friendly. Enjoy your food and drinks water side or inside. Sunday afternoons are actually my favorite times to visit because it's quieter. Feel free to engage in local chit chat.

I love this place specially on summer. I love their crabs and ofcourse the seafood platter. the interior is so historic and as well the details of the paintings on the wall are so incredible... I can sit on their outside deck all day and just enjoy looking at the water and feeling the breeze.

Over a decade ago we used to make an annual pilgrimage to Stoneys for the best crab cakes ever. Well, once we moved here, the crab cakes just didn't "do it for me" anymore. I thought perhaps I'd just gotten used to them. That apparently wasn't the case. Somewhere along the way they changed the recipe. They still advertise their... More

Cream of crab was excellent. MD crab not so much: raw onion flavor, served lukewarm. Staff was busy so I did not send it back. Had two meals there. Crab cakes were very good. Fried oysters were crispy (out of season since it was May).Scallops were excellent.

Kingfisher Inn was the perfect place for lunch for 2 hungry travelers. It was the first day of their new menu, and their chef outdid himself! With the help of our enthusiastic and supportive waiter, Kyle, we found the right seat on their deck overlooking the water and just the right meal for our needs! The asparagus, avocado gnocchi and... Nice quality on the creek side of Solomons Island boardwalk. Decent quality and a better-than-expected atmosphere for a tourist destination, we visited during a warm off-season (late winter) day. Menu is a bit limited, but dishes were well-executed (but just a little too small). The jambalaya was actually well-seasoned and spicy (many places pass off insipid heat-less dishes as jambalaya).... Had an oyster po boy with a kingfisher lager. The beer was a bit too cold, but that was easy enough to let warm. Not many people for lunch. The service was great and the food was great. Will be going back. Very friendly atmosphere.

Our civic group has moved our monthly dinner meetings to Stoney's and they do a great job accommodating us with their upstairs room and dedicated staff. The menu has plenty of variety to meet our needs and the food is consistently very good. I've brought a large party for lunch in the regular dining room also with great results. A... More
