Great steaks

The bistro menu is the best deal, it's a ton of food at a great price. The a la carte menu is too steep (but still fair for DC). The steaks are perfectly cooked to order, the bite of desert at the end of a meal is a great touch.

We went to this restaurant for a special occasion. We arrived a few minutes early and were ushered into the bar area. We said that we would just wait for our table, but we were told that we had no choice - go to the bar. They were close to half an hour late seating us. The waiter was pleasant,... More

When i want to sit at a bar--be treated like family and royalty by the owners, and have excellent food i go to The Classics. It was opened by Ray- of Rays the Steaks fame--and then sold to two wonderful staff members--tow affable men -one who is the bartender and one who runs the kitchen-- they are the epitome of... More

Took clients there for dinner and one did not like their steak (felt it was bad cut) and sent it back. Asked for manager who said he was no manager he was the OWNER and it we didnt like it we could take our business elsewhere. Walked away before I could get two sentences out. Thanks, I will do just... My husband and I are Silver Spring locals, and Ray's the Classics is our go-to restaurant after a Saturday movie matinee. They are only open for dinner, so don't plan on getting there too early. Parking can be difficult on the street, but there is also a garage nearby. We have only sat on the bistro side of the restaurant,... More

The Classics (formerly Ray's the Classics) is one of my favorite restaurants. Elliott (one of the owners) works the bar, while Nick, the other owner, buzzes around making sure all is well. The well-trained wait staff is friendly and accommodating. The front of the house is the bistro, where you can order off of either the main menu or the... More

Excellent quality and price. The garlic shrimp was so good I order the diablo shrimp app too was great. The ribs ok at best, good size... More

We had two business dinners (two groups of 5-6) and were extremely pleased. The environment is basic steak restaurant but clean and comfortable. The steaks were perfectly cooked and delicious. The wine list while limited was priced cheap (Mark up was small for restaurant). The service was pleasant and prompt. Overall, we recommend and certainly return on future visits.

I'm really serious, there's something about the burgers here... they have the best flavor of any burger I've ever tasted. They are huge, so I recommend cutting it in half and taking one half home for lunch the next day. You'll want to eat the whole thing, but you'll only find that you're too full to enjoy the rest of... A group of three went for dinner, all of us ordered the Cowboy-cut (bone-in Ribeye) and none of us could finish it. The temperature was perfect as we all ordered it different (from rare to medium). The sides are all good, we had the mushrooms, creamed spinach. and broccoli. Will definitely go back.
