Good food and nice people

We had dinner at Sergio's on a Saturday evening. We called in the afternoon and asked for a reservation for 6:30. The restaurant is located in the Doubletree hotel. You have to go in through the hotel. We were 6 adults and a 2 and 3/4 year old boy with allergies to sesame and tree nuts. The... read more

We were a party of 12, so we got great service. I don't know what the raves are about the food. I thought it was heavy. And, for an Italian restaurant, the side of pasta that went with my crab cakes was small and unmemorable. My husband had the ravioli and said he had just a few - not much... More

Sergios is great! Best Italian in silver spring. It's run by a father son team, and the food is fresh and authentic. Don't let the hotel basement location turn you off (in the double tree). It's worth braving the walk through the lobby.

The pasts here is amazing. Unfortunately the service is not. The owner has been just nasty to us on a couple of occassions. I want to retrun because the food is that good, but I probably will not.

Why am I even giving this place 1 star? Because we never tasted the food there and I'm assuming that all of you that liked it, might know what you're talking about. We had no reservation and walked right up to the host, who I'm guessing is Sergio, himself. He frantically seated us at an "available" table. Now why this... More

My first time here. Good italian food. Their chicken & pancetta ravioli were so good with a red sauce! And the limoncello tarfulo was refreshing and delicious. The waiter wasn't too excited about my special sauce request for the ravioli and had to ask the owner but I guess the owner said fine (as he should have) and brought me... More

Very good Italian food. Had the chicken parm, it was an 8 outta 10. Friendly service, but didn't write down the order and had to keep checking (at least he didn't get it wrong) and was a bit slow. Overall, meal was very good, a lower cost option to the $30 plates in DC.

It all depends what you look for in a restaurant. Great food obviously, and the plate I had (scrimp ravioli) wasn't bad at all, although it could have been better if they used better quality seafood. Surroundings migh come second. And although I don think it's that important (certainly not in this case as I was eating alone), this restaurant... More

I've been eating at Sergio's with great pleasure, almost passion, from time to time for over 20 years. Why am I now just thinking of telling folks how great this place is?! Shame on me. Almost buried by a Hilton Hotel that keeps changing its name and that stupidly doesn't realize what a gem it has downstairs, Sergio's is always... More

Great homemade pasta and delicious sauces. Everything was tasty. Service was good. Not overbearing and just attentive enough. The portions are a touch on the small size so order an appetizer or 2 and you should still have room for dessert.
