Dined at this restaurant twice after being so impressed with the food on our first occasion. This restaurant has a small but diverse menu that they do very well. Most of the proteins are sous vide and then lightly pan seared so are moist and tender. Good atmosphere but it was a bit quiet on the Sunday night that we... More

After a long slow slide toward larger plates and "comfort food" Jackie's is back with small plates and deliciously layered flavors. We had more or less stopped going because the food was predictably good, more or less comfort food but not noteworthy. We shared an anchovy crisp appetizer (mixed reviews... I liked it a lot), a fresh tomato, watermelon and... More

My date and I were convinced to try out Jackie's from the Washington Post review. I think the critic must have been recognized because our experience was no where close to the experience written in the critique. Service was slow, the hostess, Jackie was not sociable, and seemed too full of herself and the food was mediocre. I certainly think... More

Went to Jackie's with a couple of friends recently and really liked it. Among the dishes we hae were chicken liver crostini, green tomatoes, crispy brussel sprouts, tuna, green eggs & ham and ratatouille. The latter was just okay but everything else was delicious. Its a very pretty space and a good choice for a group of friends. I will... More

Chef Adam Harvey and his crew has transformed Jackie's into a serious dining destination in Silver Spring. The room is funky almost to a point that the decor is a little distracting but if you focus on the flavors and presentations of the food, you will certainly enjoy your meal. Also Jackie's on Monday's is a great place to have... More

So, there is very little on the menu of small plates that is actually vegan. Very little. However, I had the Brussels sprouts and asked if the chef could make me up a plate. This turned out quite all right. My date had ratatouille, which was just okay, and some meat dish, which she really liked. We sat in a... More

We went to Jackie's for Brunch on Father's Day. While the food was excellent, several of the omelet selections could have added hash browns or grits and come with a choice of breads. The price for a plate with a lot of space is almost the same as a full plate at a five star hotel in Colorado. I have... More

We have frequented Jackie's for the past 10 years and I am happy that it is not only still going strong, but the food is better than ever. The value of 3-4 course meals Sun- Thrs is phenomenal, excellent offerings priced at least 30%-40% less than what "Star" chef Voltaggio offers, and the cuisine is at the same level and... More

I had been wanting to try the $12 fried chicken night for some time. Just got an opportunity to go and the price is now $13.50. Still not outrageous for a nice meal. You get 3 pieces of chicken, Kale, potato salad and a biscuit. Also one warm chocolate chip cookie for dessert. If you want more if anything, even... More

If you're looking for an unusual place to have dinner -- this could be it. It's a bit retro-1950's, and the menu is both inventive and retro at the same time. Great martinis. Not exactly in downtown Silver Spring, but walking distance.
