Parkway is one of the better choices among fairly weak competition in the DC area. The food is good, but not gourmet and portions large and low priced. Breakfast may be the best option, but that deprives you of the home made matzah ball soup and free pickle bar.

The parkway is as close to a NY deli as you find in the DC area. Good sandwiches, full menu of lunch and dinner options and a pickle bar. The front part of the place is a bakery and to-go food. The back has sit down tables and booths with waiter service. There can be a wait on peak weekend... More

My family has been going to Parkway for as long as I can remember. The food is New York style and there is lots of it. For breakfast the lox and bagel platters are excellent, in fact they are good any time of the day or night. My favorite for lunch is the hot pastrami sandwich on rye bread with... More

this is a good deli for the DC area. They have a great pickle bar with all kinds of pickles and relishes such as carrots with raisins. The food is good. The cold cuts are better than usual but not New York quality. It can be crowded on a weekend but seating is always really quick. Breakfast has great how... More

I've been looking for a breakfast spot ever since I moved to Tacoma a few weeks ago. I'm a pretty hard core breakfast guy and greasy eggs will not suffice. As soon as I walked in and saw the pastry counter I knew I was in the right place. I was struck stupid by the variety and deliciousness of all... More

A friend who was used to New York Deli's recommended this to my daughter as the best in our area. We tried it and have been eating there for over 20 years regularly. It gets very crowded but is always worth the wait. My daughter and her husband love to come even though they have a 1 1/2 hr. drive.... More

Excellent deli food. Sandwiches are wonderful~ Something for everyone. Even with a long line, the wait will only be about 10-15 minutes, this would be on the weekends for lunch. Love the self-serve pickle bar. Giving 4 stars for Special Occasion only if it is a casual special occasion. Definitely Recommend.

This is only one of two restaurants in the area that can truly be called a "deli". This restaurant serves sandwiches like you can only find in New York City. They have a sit down restaurant, carry out, bakery, and delicatessen. The corn beef on rye is to die for!

To enjoy this deli you must be prepared to be seated near the other patrons and and hear about them. My extended family have stopped here many summers after beach vacations. Deli staff is happy to accommodate groups putting tables together and seeing that youngsters have as much attention as adults. There is usually a line to get in but... More
